As usual I don't know yet because I left early. My wife has a few memory problems so we needed to leave, but we had several people come by and say Checkers looks really good. II even had a guy on the way home riding a chopper give me a thumbs up. I'll find out later if I won anything, but I don't care about this one but the show next is June ( mini meets west) is the one I hope to do good at. Thanks for asking.

Four little French sparkplugs just showed up. Just what the doctor ordered for Skooby's little French, British, German engine. :)

Been here two days now. The first day there was only about 10 or 15 cars, but now about 200. Most of them are classics but that's what MOASF is all about. I'll have some picture a little later. To day is the car show so I need to get ready.

Air filter maintenance for the MINI (and for my Sunbeam)

The K&N drop-in didnt look bad, but it turned out to be pretty dirty.
It's drying now, and will get oiled and put back in tomorrow.

And oil change is done on the Clubman after work.. much easier on the 2012 than the 2002.

Yesterday my wife and I took a trip out to Granville, OHio, and had lunch at the Granville Inn...

We sat outside on the porch... It was quite nice, mid 70's @ 40% humidity...

I warsh the engines in our cars once a year. I spray a very diluted solution of simple green on wait a few minutes & hose it off with I light spray. Then I use a leaf blower & a touch up with an air hose if needed. It really is an easy process. If it was hard I wouldn't be doing it.

I pulled the intercooler and coolant tank to be polished. Then back to the shop to change back to red. You know for a little car their are a lot to clean.

I finally did something with GIR this weekend, mostly TLC type stuff. Saturday replaced the bellow on the steering rack and while it was up on blocks I changed the oil and filter. Sunday he got a wash and I worked on the paint some. Hopfully finish that up in the next day or two.

The 2012 Clubman went into 1/2 engine mode yesterday and was running crappy...

Off to my local repair shop, and they replaced a couple ignition coils. They also fixed a recurring problem of a damaged temperature sensor wire. New wiring was rerouted higher up under the front bumper.

The car feels back to it's normal peppy self, or maybe it feels faster because my wallet is so much lighter than before ;-)

Chicago MINI Motoring Club annual end of season drive to Starved Rock state park..

We take a scenic 75 mile back road drive to a historic state park west of Chicagoland. Start was at one of the local dealerships who provided coffee and donuts and a place to hang out.
Great weather brought out 30 MINIs for a fun drive and chance to explore the park.
210 miles of MINI driving door to door for me..
