Dang. I wish I'd known. The 'Welcome Mat' would have been out for you.

BTW, I hope you also ate some BBQ. That part of Texas is legendary for Texas BBQ.

2 from KC, 2 from Texas, 1 from Oklahoma and 1 from Atlanta, there were supposed to be 3 more, 2 from KC and one "local" San Antonio fellow but life dictated otherwise at the last minute.
We ran the sisters, went to Stonehenge, Luchenback, Medina and many places all around there, we were there almost a whole week.
We had plenty of BBQ, although being from KC, BBQ is a staple of my diet! :biggrin5:
One of the best BBQ places we ate at was the Hard Eight in Stephenville on the way home.
BTW, we drove I-44 from Wichita Falls all the way to Tulsa and I will never drive that road again if I can help it, it's bad enough that it's about the worst road I've driven on in these United States, but to pay almost $30 in tolls for the privilege was insulting!
We only had one problem with one of the classics, going over one of the cattle grates that was unexpectedly rough, one of the cars got a little air in the back and when it came down it bent a suspension piece in the rear. I was able to find a machine shop open late and he made us a new one and we were back on the road again the next morning with no further issues.
Then on the way home the pickup died on the road unexpectedly, it restarted a moment later and ran fine so we carried on, but it died again about 6 more times over the next 100 miles, where I bought a bottle of Heet and poured it in at that gas stop - end of problem. The rest of the way home the car ran perfectly......I don't know where he got the water (I assume it was water in the gas anyway) and no one else had a problem with their cars.....weird.
All in all, it was one fun trip! -

I changed out the snows on my S and my wife's S today and fixed her MINI FINI cup holder. Tomorrow, the R50 gets its tires rotated for the Dragon and I hope to install a new cup holder in it, too.

There is only one "Dunkler Helm".... That's reserved for Mark when he gets his P-car....

Getting through the DMV fun with getting Wolfgang swapped over to me. I already love the lil guy!

Got a really nice 'faux marble' treatment for my car... it was FREE, courtesy of the Texas Department of Transportation. -
I thought he was getting a Lotus or Mustang or GP or Classic or something??? Either way I like the name and your P-Car!

I bought the Cooper some new wheels. I've been looking for a long time and finally decided on the 18" OE wheel, I think it's called the style 95, or Spider Spoke design. They are in almost perfect shape except they don't have the center caps...hope they aren't hard to find. Not really sure what size tires though. I bought them more for looks as I doubt I'll ever be tracking the car.

Nice wheels! Here's a link for some center caps. Not sure if you have to buy the JCW logo, part 5, separately, or if the cap also comes complete with logo.

I decided since it was nice this weekend I would strip my cars coatings by slow compounding and repolishing the whole car on Saturday.
Today I wiped it down with Gyeon Prep to remove any oils left over from polishing and applied two coats of KAMIKAZE MIYABI coating. Later this week I will apply KAMIKAZE ISM coating to finish the job. -

Now if I just knew if I had to use the 205/40-18 tires or I could use 215/45-18's. My Mini is not lowered and I know the 16's seem pretty close to the rear lower control arms although these are 52mm offset rather than the 16's 48mm and they are 12.7mm" wider than the 16's. Guess we'll see. -
This site should help show the differences in the wheel and tire clearances. http://www.willtheyfit.com

repositioned the winter hibernation covers and checked on the trickle chargers. Weather and road conditions still too crappy here to get on the road. Soon...
