Didn't do anything today but drive it to the Mexican Restaurant. Did do a few things over the winter. Couldn't get some of the pictures to post to my "Garage" so I'm doing it here.
This was on the way to Minis Slay The Sleeping Dragon last year.

That is the very best F56 I have seen to date. Nice tasteful mods.

Got a new set of tires for the Cooper, for when we go Dragon slaying, on the Cherohala Skyway and on I-75 to and from. The present ones are ok for local, sedate use but not good for rainy weather, interstate speeds, or intense twisties.

^ Same! Yesterday I was browsing the interwebs for some of Dave.O's famous StarSpecs. Just before clicking 'purchase' I remembered that I have a set of BFG Comp 2's sitting in the attic, left over from that time I bought cheap black wheels. Only put about 1000 miles on them before returning em. I'll get to them Direzza's eventually, thinking next year.
New-ish rubber will be fitted this afternoon! No more tire letters, and I'm ok with that.

You can burn up those BFG's on a few fast runs on the Dragon. -

Took my wife's 2011 over for a 2 day detail by a local club member, he is recovering from back surgery and he claims he uses the detailing for exercise and get his strength back, he has been detailing since he was 15, he is in his early 60s, nice guy, six years in the Marines as an aviation mechanic, he said carrier duty did him in, out after 6.
I have seen three other vehicles he has done, superb work, we shall see how this goes, I will post some snaps this weekend. Supposed to rain, ah well!
Off to Missouri soon, so a road trip for the 16 across the flats of Kansas and Western Missouri, I think I will drive the alternate slow route this time.

Full detail on the 03 in preparation to hopefully sell it to another MINI fan.

Getting new window motors and regulators and replacing a tie rod (seized adjusting threads).
Having my local MINI trained place do it as I don't have the time to do it myself at the present.
The windows have been intermittent for several years (rescued by the Fonzi maneuver umpteen time),
and the other day, the driver side could be slid up and down by hand (but would not go all the way up),
independent of the motor (which still whirred, but didn't move the window) so it's really time now. -
Discovered that I like waxing my previous MINI (Midnight Black) more than waxing my new-ish MINI (Pepper White).
It's a whole lot easier for these old eyes to see where the Zymol wax is and isn't on the black paint rather than on white. -

On my way to work this morning and was waiting at a traffic light. A guy in a big rig pulled up next to me and just stared at my car. Looked at it from front to back, then gave me a thumbs up just as the light turned green. :biggrin5:
As one of the guys in a local MINI club was a bus driver, the driver of this rig was possibly a MINI owner also, I guess. -

Today I wiped off some pollen and I think I may pull it out of the garage and wash it after work.

I opened a bunch of boxes from Amazon. Has anyone tried to refinish (dye) a convertible top at home before? The top looks like it has some bald spots. I bought the "back to black" fabric top dye kit.
