What did you expect of a Jeep made by Fiat?

On the way to the office this morning, I was following a slow pick up truck who stopped at an intersection to make a right hand turn. The problem was there was a whole line of traffic behind him. I was followed very closely by a red corvette whose driver got very impatient and started sounding his horn.

When the traffic cleared and the pick up truck in front finally pulled onto the road, a wide 6 lane road, steep uphill with two really nice bends, the pick up truck cut me off an pulled into the far left lane. The Corvette pulled into the middle lane and booted it up the hill. I pulled into the right lane and chased the corvette. At the second bend, I was side by side with the vette. When we got to the top the hill, the Corvette driver gave me the thumbs up. We were NOT racing. Just driving spirited and safe.

My expectations were so low, I didn't think it could be worse... And the plastic removable sunroof(s), though a cool idea, are louder than an R53's sunroof(s). and the little Jeep grill and headlights, symbol if you will, is EVERYWHERE. It's like they're trying to say, look we know this thing is shitty but we make the Wrangler! See!? This is what the front of it looks like! And really, Chrysler has been making s*** vehicles since long before Fiat Acquired them in 14'.

The cigars are sorted and packed, as is the rest of the car except for my suitcase. I just need to gas up the car and get going early Monday morning.

Nothing today, but yesterday I had to drive to downtown Dallas, and on the way back to the burbs, there was little traffic on the tollway, and people were hauling a$$. I was doing 80-plus most of the way, and got over 100 a few times. I wasn't alone. It is nice to let the horses run from time-to-time.

I made some backup lights out of little round LEDs.

Since I installed a trailer hitch -- which passes right through the hole in the bumper where the original backup light was positioned -- I got tired of not having backup lights anymore. It's dark behind my house and I really need to see when parking my car at night.

Not sure why they look like different brightness in the photo, but with the naked eye these LEDs look the same. And they are much BRIGHTER than the stock MINI backup light.

    Found this:

Last night, on the way to work, I hit some object in the road. Didn't see what it was because of oncoming lights. Checked this morning and found this. I'm guessing that this is all one piece with the radiator support. Trip to The Dragon looking less and less likely. :cryin: Wheel well liner is also cracked. I guess that I could get a piece of thin aluminum strip and pop rivet the 2 pieces together. After all no one will see it, right? However, now I know that it's broken, my OCD has kicked in and I have to get it replaced.

That's just a small wound, you should still be able to come to the Dragon. :fingerscrossed::Thumbsup:

According to realoem, that panel is one piece, and $268. eMINIparts has them for $250 + shipping. Found one (aftermarket) on Amazon for $100.

I would rather have a proctology exam performed by a leper who walked away with 9 fingers.
