Yesterday the de-chroming process began. I sprayed the grille surround, side scuttles and redid the mirror covers with plastidip, as well as blacked out the side scuttle indicator lenses. I'm not sure how I want to do the door handles. Taping and masking the entire side of the car to plastidip them is an option, but I'm thinking the plastidip might not hold up well there. I might just order a set of black handles. I still have to do the head and tail light surrounds and might open up the headlights and black them out as well.

Got home from a trip to New York the other day. Started up the MINI and went to work this morning. (I'm in Canada so not a holiday here).

About 3/4 way to the office, the CEL came on. The code read P0136. This is going to cost me some money isn't it?

I have reset the code and will see how far I get before it comes on again.

I believe that would be an 02 sensor. I replaced one on my 2003 R50 a while back. Bought an oem replacement from rock auto. I already had the correct socket for the job. It wasn't terribly expensive or difficult. If it's rusted I place, it could prove to be a challenging repair.

Washed the Helmet. My wife and I are going to go out in it tonight. It may rain tomorrow so I am moving the 88 Acura Integra out of the garage and that will be the Helmets new home. The plan was to sale the R53 and use the Helmet as my daily car but plans change. It looks Like the R53 will stay in the family!!

I have a good wife to put up with my addiction.

I parked my MINI outside this weekend and it will stay outside in the rain all week. I am detailing a BMW 1 Series. Spent Saturday doing the wheels and washing and claying the entire car and washing it again. Monday was 9+ hours of compounding and polishing. Maybe I will seal and dress the tires after work and start glass coating with Gyeon Prime.

This car now looks dripping wet awesome without any scratches and zero protection on it right now. It all 95% prep and only 5% coating.

Washed the 11 Countryman, it is looking very nice with a fresh detail inside and out. My wife is very pleased, which makes me very happy!

Wash today was a simple power wash and a hydro dry, it is holding some nice shine.

My 16 Countryman is sadly very dirty and sitting until I get the time to clean it up, perhaps after the range on Thursday.

    :)

Getting ready to drive the MINI to go photograph a Lamborghini Trofeo -- and hopefully drive it. :D:D:D

    More later.

My MINI is just sitting out in the sun collecting pollen and crap after a few days of rain. Not worried it's coated with Gyeon. :ihih::Thumbsup:

Just finished installing a NAVDY HUD. Quick and dirty for now. I'll see how I like it on the way to the VA today before routing the wire neatly.

Found out the coupe can be started when the key fob is on the outside of the car (resting underneath the wiper blades to be exact) and that the computer won't notify you that the key has flown off and is out of range until after you turn the car off 30 minutes later...

Ouch. Did you find the key fob when you went back for it
? I just imagining how bad that could be, jump in the car drive 150 miles and have no way to re-start it.

I was going to install the driver side euro shelf, but it turns out I need a couple pieces of hardware first. Wish I would have known that when I ordered it.

My MINI got wet on the way to trade it in on something a little more sensible.

Actually, yesterdays's photoshoot. Lamborghini Super Trofeo. I didn't get to drive it -- I couldn't get in it thanks to the 15 pounds of IV fluids I'm carrying around right now. I feel like the Michelin man.
