What did you do to it??

Truth be told I did nothing to it, not my fault. No issues with the car until Monday morning when I got in to run some errands & the brake pedal was rock hard. Pulled out of the drive & no brakes. Drove slowly around the block using the e-brake to stop. Hmmm not so good. I figured it was the brake booster or something associated with it.
What was wrong??? Well it was the Vacuum line & check valve that goes between the Vacuum pump & the brake booster. The tech said the line was damaged in 3 places due to heat from the glowing snail that lives nearby. I noticed the new hose has an aluminized cover while the old one did not. Hopefully that will keep the snail from frying it. Could it be I'm on boost too much? :biggrin5:
I figure I was very lucky that part did not fail on a drive in SE Ohio. Could have lost the car. Yikes!
All is well & no cost thanks to the CPO warranty.

My MINI rode the flat bed a few times. This is a first for the German bread van. I'm hoping it's the last. :fingerscrossed:

Well, I noticed last week my front right tire was down a good bit. Started watching more closely. Turns out there was a double puncture (side-by-side) in the tread. No point in trying to fix it. Ended up ordering new Continental ExtremeContact Sports to replace the almost cooked Bridgestones I had on. Drove out to TireRack's warehouse in New Castle to pick them up in my sister's Escape and had them mounted and balanced at the local PepBoys.
I liked the ExtremeContact DWs in the past and these are supposed to be the latest and greatest version of those. So, we'll see how they hold up. I saved the two best tires of the Bridgestones I had on, just in case I pick up another "something" on the road before these are cooked from driving. -
Today I gave the Helmet and Runt a bath. Vacuumed out my wife convertible. Then installed rear shocks, changed the oil, put in a new air filter and changed plugs on my daughters Honda. I am getting old.....
Now my wife and I are headed to dinner!Attached Files:

Worked all week detailing and patching up my wife's Pepper White '06 MCSa [it has an aero kit and she has cracked the front lower bumper in places as she seems to NOT be able to judge how close to a curb she really is!]. :mad2:
Anyway, today I took the car to the big British Car Day in Dayton, OH, and it won first place in its class!
I guess some hard work now and then DOES pay off in the end. Next year, I have to compete with the car in Winners Row, against the really spiffy cars...:fingerscrossed:
She's visiting her family in Spain right now. I "think" she will be happily surprised when she gets back home next month....:ihih: -

Well, I'm sad to report that I sold one MINI today. I said goodbye to my 03 R53, BUT, it went to an exceptional home, I know the new owner well and know it will be loved and will be very well cared for.
Me and Wolfgang, the 06 JCW will motor on, and motor on with the old r53 as a buddy. -

Contis are great, going on the 16 Countryman in about 5K miles soon as the runflat noise become more unbearable.
Nice picture of the Helmut and Runt, nice house too. QVALE S is a sweet classic. Keep this one, eh!

At Carmax to get an offer on the WRX as negotiating leverage at the dealer.
My MINI will arrive at the dealer tomorrow and I am scheduled to pick it up Friday in the afternoon after they get it tinted. -

Qik, glad you got your Mini back it does look good! Redbeard it going to be a long day!
I have done NOTHING with my Minis. I had to leave Sunday. That morning I drove the Helmet to church when I came out I could see very very small sap spots on the car. I didn't have time to wash it (agin) before I put it up. I know what I will be doing when I get home Saturday! I hate sap!
Its driving me up the wall knowing it is in the garage with sap on the paint.......I am getting as OCD as Dave.0. -
