Had to go help line up the companies 100th Anniversary parade. Lucy wanted her picture taken with some of the big boys.
We had 57 trucks from all eras. My fav was the narly but uber cool 1944 snow blower. Engine on back powers the blower. I think it would actually be able to shed mini.
Great time was had by all.Attached Files:

After two weeks in airport parking (covered), the MINI got washed yesterday afternoon. I drove down to the Austin area and back today to shoot a car, and drove through a very strong storm coming back. Heavy rain, pea-sized hail and really strong winds. The MINI is okay, but needs another bath.

Got a new donut/spare for my 2003 R50. The old one was, of course, 14 years old
and although it was fine a few months ago, it's 0 psi now with a rotten valve, came
apart in my hands. I don't trust 14 year old rubber in an emergency, especially when
it's been hanging under the boot in the elements and the wheel is pretty rusty, so a
whole new wheel/tire with fresh rubber from WMW did the trick.
Just put a new tire on my wife's 2001 VW Cabrio's donut as hers is 16.5 years old.
Tire rack is just about the only place to get replacement temporary spare tires these days. -
I also keep a high volume hand pump (about 1.5" diameter by 20" long tube, not the real
short skinny strap-on-the-bicycle types), a good pressure gauge, and a Dynaplug kit in the boot,
but sometimes you want to get somewhere else besides the side of the road to plug it, and
sometimes a plug doesn't work or isn't indicated by the type of puncture.
I've actually had to put on the donut briefly a half a dozen times over the last dozen
years on one car or the other. -
Got a new bypass valve, tensioner arm, and window motor in the 2003 on Saturday. Feels like I'm building a new R53 one piece at a time.
Also bumped into Dave.0 while he was getting his new supercharger etc installed.Attached Files:

It was a good weekend. I helped install my new Supercharger, Throttle body, Bypass valve and installed new MAP and TMAP sensors.
So my car should be good for another 100k of fun. -
Dropped her off to get this crap fixed:

My MINI finally left the port. Anyone know the typical transit time once it leaves port? -
RedBeard
Do you know what ship you are on? And which port you are headed to?
It's typically about a week from port to dealer for a priority 1 ordered car. Transit is 12 to 17 days for the East Coast depending on port calls before yours. -

Yesterday we topped off the oil and rinsed off the dust. Now it's resting in the garage while I contemplate which catch can to order.

Took it in to the dealer today for a CEL and musty smell from A/C when I first start the car. Fault 1B8302. Replaced the radiator. While it was in, they changed the oil and filter, flushed and replaced brake fluid, cleaned the A/C evaporator and replaced the cabin filter, replaced all the wiper blades, and did a software update. Long day, but didn't cost me a nickel, and they even threw in a Mini first aid kit.
I did have a loaner to take to lunch and a Doc's appointment. Brand new F56 Justa with the anemic 3 banger and basic auto trans. Thing didn't even have a "sport" switch! Can't complain though, it got the job done. Struggled in traffic, but was fine on the interstate cruising effortlessly at 75-80 mph.Attached Files:

Why would a "radiator" give you a musty smell in the cabin? To me a radiator is the thing in front of the car that your antifreeze coolant goes in. Are they talking about the A/C evaporator?
And if it's the evaporator, I wonder about the catalyst sensor? Wonder what that is? No wonder our cars are so damned expensive..... -
For the second time, used my Clubman as a hearse.

I didn't do a thing with my MINI today, but the good folks at McWilliams Collision are spraying some primer on her this morning! :beer
Also, the Versa still sucks and NO I haven't been able to wrangle up a replacement. Which is insane BUT and not worth getting in to. I'll have my favorite car back next week sometime after I get back from Halifax.
