Got my MINI washed, and took it out for a nice drive.

Took a long drive today. Ended at the local Volunteer Fire Department where they were holding a BBQ dinner to raise money for medical expenses for a friends Grandson. Good food, good cause, good day for a drive. Saw some nice vintage muscle cars at the event too.

A shipment with parts for the blue car arrived, including top motor mount, bold for that, idler pulley, phone mount, lug nuts for the dark gray car's new longer studs, etc...
Then I spent most of the day cleaning seats and carpets with the hot water extractor Bissel thing, which works quite well for a consumer level device. At least 20 gallons of brown muck pulled out of the fabric of seats, floor mats and carpet. The passenger carpet below the seat area generated the most extracted dirt - my money is on a spilled Starbucks Latte. I still may pull the carpet on that side of the car before the seats go back in so I can get the crud that has found its way through the cut for the cables that connect to the seat, but I may leaving that for another day.
one bucket of Starbucks came free with the car
Also invested in new jack stands for the Minis - I spend too much time under these cars to put my life in Harbor Freight's hands :frown2:

Watched the MINI GP Concept video with interest.
Sadly, at 56 sec in, they reveal it comes in automatic transmission. :nonod:

OK... I'm not really hating on the GP. I love the gen 1 GP and haven't been in any of them after that. I just couldn't resist being punny. -

If it's a dual clutch automatic, that would be kinda cool.

I'm a phan of the dual clutch box of cogs, but what do I know? That GP has many more problems than it's CVT transmission.

Yeah, like get rid of the Navi screen on the GP.
-

Yeah, a Navi screen just doesn't go with a race car like the GP is supposed to be. All it should have is a gas gauge and a tach.

Got plates for the blue car at the DMV, then sold my Tundra so I have more funds to blow on Minis
After that I ordered some decent tires to replace the Chinese no-names the seller thought were a good choice.
Later a package from Crutchfield arrived to get me started on some audio upgrades while the seats are out and the cables can be run easily, but tomorrow I'm at Road America, so this all has to wait until Sunday. Until I get all that sorted I have to drive my son's Mini -

Cleaned the carbon from the intake valves using solvents and brushes and changed the oil today. Took it for a short test drive afterwards. It's a little more peppy and in sport mode it seems like there are more cracks and pops.

Spent the day in the garage wrenching on two Minis. More brake and front suspension assembly on one car, then OEM radio removal and some initial install steps of a new headunit in the blue car. In between during an errand, I had a warning light come on in the red Mini - the center yellow light down low, something with the emission system. Went away after restarting the car before I could pull a code. Hmm
