I love washing cars in the rain because it the best way to insure no soap dries on the car from sun and heat because everything stays cool and dry.
We are not crazy, we are just smarter than others.
I pull the cars inside and use a very strong leaf blower to remove all the water and only need to use a 16 x 16 hand towel to blot off the rest. I am not worried about scratches because more cars I detail need cut and polishing anyhow.
With my personal car in wash and blow dry and all the water is gone without a trace because it is Gyeon MOHS silicon dioxide (SiO2) coated. All the water runs right off. :ihih::lol:
Wax and sealants are so 2000-ish.

Dropped my ride off at the body shop. He hopes to have it done by Friday.

The b***h is leaking coolant. Not really sure where, but it's slow. I looked underneath and couldn't really see where it's coming from, there was dried coolant all over the hoses. Could be coming from around the thermostat area. I'm lucky I was tinkering around test fitting some emblems yesterday or I would've never known. Until it was too late of course. Monitored temps on the way into work today and it never went over 225. Headed to the shop today.

Welcome to the club. There are two kinds of Jarvic's in MINI's. The ones that have failed & the ones that are about to fail.
-
She's got a new Jarvic, and apparently it needed some 40 dollar adapter to fit. Also, the only thing good about the dealer is that they take walk ins.

Never heard of an adapter for the T-stat, but then again my my R56 was an '07. Didn't need one when mine was replaced.

I used to replace my thermostat every year and the housing every other year... total POS.
-
It's a splitter of sorts. Takes the one plug harness that was on there and splits it to fit onto both sensors on the new thermostat.
-
My first time changing it since buying the car a few years ago. ((knocks on wood))
-
Bought a new car wash bucket last night and washed my car last night.
Looks like there might be some rain today. :frown2: -

My R53 had 2 thermostat replacements. Babs R55 has 1 Jarvic replacement.

agranger MINI of the Month June 2009Supporting MemberI should have mentioned that I tracked the car in Texas heat and that I had a small tent trailer (800lbs) that I towed behind the MINI as well, so I was particularly worried about cooling.

Took Babs clubster over to the muffler shop for a new flex piece. When asking my favorite MINI tech he said "they all do that". Checked on the price of the part & it's only $1500 +. :eek6: Steven at eMINIparts.com told me what the fix was & even sent me a link to the part I needed.
Well the guys at Mad Hatter Muffler had me on my way in 35 minutes at a cost of $95. Skooby is now nice & quiet once again. :smile5:

Yesterday it was the MINI's turn today it was the German bread vans turn for some TLC. Headed over to Discount tire & had it re-shoe'd, Conti DWS this time. There are some nice rebates to be had this week at Discount Tire. I'm getting $205 dollars back. Now to go out & wear the mold release compound off of them. :ihih:
