Nice…. I appreciate the response. Now the back story… Ever since the repair I have had a BAD rattle coming from the back side of the motor. Started off light and over the last couple of months has gotten REALLY bad.. I pulled all of piping off more than once trying to figure it out. I pulled the top motor mount and everything looked good.. Finally I pulled to bottom motor mount and this SOB fell out. Apparently someone dropped it when making the repair and it got wedged between the mount and the body.

Finally changed the spark plugs.
Pulling the coil packs only resulted in a broken locking bow clip and broken skin on my knuckles.
P.S. ECS has a nice price on the OEM Beru plugs, non-MINI boxed. -

Exciting Mini day
Popped off the cover, cranked up my '08 Mini, drove about 3 miles at posted speeds to the Lake Pine WAWA, got a 16 ounce decaf, drove home, put the cover back on (after a 1/2 hour motor hood cool down period). I hope tomorrow won't be as hectic!! -
Some dumb A$$ did not have the right angel when they were backing the Helmet out of the drive, kind of messed up the bumper. Its fixable, I think I may have fixed. But I think I need to pull the bumper off to do it right. Ran out of time!

I have a real talent for finding ways to hurt myself while working on cars, but found that changing plugs in my MINI was one of the easiest (and knuckle-safe) jobs I have done.

N14 or N18? The redesigned valve cover on the N18 is a bit of an obstacle for me.
...or maybe it's just my fat fingers. ;-) -

These might help the Dark Helmut get around....
Or maybe line the edge of the driveway with these....

That’s cool. I curbed both drivers side rims this past summer in the same week so I will be buying a pair this winter for my summer tires.

Ummmm, I don't know. I have a 2007 R56, so whatever valve cover that has. Nothing offered any serious resistance. I was actually expecting the coil packs to be a bit harder to to remove.
I believe I mentioned this on the forum a while back when I changed the plugs, when I took the first one out, I put it in my hand... yes, it was HOT. Not hot enough to leave a mark, but enough for me to know I did something stupid.

Not a great idea to remove plugs from a hot aluminium head either. Back in the mid 60's when I was a one striper I had an Olds F-85 with the aluminum V8. I did the same thing, but one of the plugs brought the threads with it. Six months later when I sold the car that plug was still held in the head with aircraft epoxy. I'm sure the alloys are much improved since then, but ya never know.

Going to wash my car in a little bit as soon as it gets above 39 degrees.

I have yet to have any customers not blow away by the results I produce.
