Cool, I finally made it into RM for the first time last year. My Sat schedule is usually drive to the Italiano, walk around Ocean Drive after, then hit Exotics on Cannery Row, dinner, hang out in front of RM to check out the car staging, then Cibo or the Mucky Duck, then drive back.
Not crazy enough to pay $200-250 a night for a 1 Star or Motel 6 so it becomes a long 20 hour day

My regular dinner spot before Saturday night at RM is the Crown and Anchor pub near Portola Plaza. And, yes, I pay $250-plus per night to stay in a "modest" hotel room in or close to Monterey. I generally share a room with a really close friend, and we are only there to sleep.
We get into all of the events for free, so the hotel is the biggest expense. I generally fly to LA, and we either drive his 1972 Porsche up to Monterey for the weekend, or we drive a press car, usually something from the Dodge SRT family. We have to pay for the gas... second biggest expense.
A couple of times, we have driven back to LA down the PCH. Once in my friend's 72 Porsche, and once in a Jeep Grand
Cherokee SRT8 - 6.1 litre hemi. The Porsche was a blast to dive on the PCH. The Jeep SRT8 was fun, but there were some butt-puckering moments.

Yep, the Crown and Anchor is our usual spot downtown if we don’t grab something on Cannery Row before heading over. It’s just a little scary thinking about having to get out of there quickly in an emergency.

I like one click to open the driver's door and two to open the others, it offers a little more security.

My bad man. Didn't see the signature part. What I want to do is turn these damn daytime running lights off. I tried that BMW Standard tools thing. I think I was missing the date thing too though. I have INPA working though. I had reset my adaptations and cleared the memory when I had the P2096 code a while back. Been doing pretty good since then too. I'll keep messing with it till I get ncs expert figured out. Thanks man!

She's still cleaner than that dirty old GP1 we saw rolling thru Fontana.

wmwny Well-Known MemberThat GP owner cannot wash his MINI. He is mostly in a walker or in a wheelchair, due to car wreck injuries. He can drive, and has been to the Dragon ever since its inception. He just can no longer stand long enough to wash his car.

There's drive thru car washes. A life long buddy of mine's Dad is paralyzed from the waist down due to a bad wreck and still washes his hot rod (it's an old Cuda, he needs to let it rot and I told him that
) and the wifes DD while sitting in a wheel chair. That said, the MINI community is friendly enough that several of us would gladly wash it for him, I'd even give it a good polish. Tell him to swing by Dave's cabin next year and we'll (or just me) get his GP looking like it should. I'll even lend him Bitsy's fine ass as a loaner while the GP get's cleaned.

wmwny Well-Known MemberHis cabin is right across from the entrance to vendor's row. If you were so interested, I'm sure you would have seen the car in his driveway and him sitting on the front porch and given him some crap about his dirty car.
-
I wasn't interested in cleaning his car for him prior to you telling me he's unable to clean it himself. We watched him drive by Dave's cabin a couple times and figured he just neglected his car. Since yall are such good friends and you know he can't clean his car I'm surprised you haven't helped him out.....
