My poor MINI is still filthy, and in desperate need of attention. But, I got home from Houston yesterday, and found my house full of f-ing bees. Honey bees. The kind of bees exterminators want nothing to do with. I had to pay a beekeeper a lot of money to kill the little f--kers.

So, instead of cleaning my MINI, I spent the day vacuuming up hundreds of dead bees. I tossed a couple of bug bombs into my attic like hand grenades to kill the hundreds of f-ing bees that were still buzzing around up there. They would have died in the next day or two on their own, but I was pissed off, and wanted to kill them.

Pardon my pseudo f-bombs, but the last 24 hours has been like a bad Stephen King novel.

Tomorrow, I get the MINI washed.

Just curious. A lot of talk about headlights here lately. My R56 MCS came from the factory with Bi-Xenons. Is that not common? Was it not available on R53 models?

Every car I have owned for the last 20 years has had Xenon headlights, but my current MINI is the first one to have Bi-Xenon headlights. I rarely use my high beams, but do like Xenon headlights.

Bi-xenon’s did not come on the first gens. We only had low-beam xenons and halogen high-beams.

Couldn't you just squirt car shampoo on the car and leave it in the rain? It would be kind of like a touchless car wash!

I've decided to do NOTHING [aka NADA] to any of my MINIs anymore, other than to keep them healthy with proper maintenance. They have all the mods I want to install and, besides, their age pretty much makes it a waste of time. They are all Gen 1s and range from 12 to 16 years old. Gone are the days or prepping for weekends at Mid Ohio or Putnam Park with BMWCCA and after next year, MOTD will become a memory, too.

I ordered the Detroit Tuned "Super Kit" for the gaskets and oil lines for my fantastic new leak. Today looking thru the Bentley Manual I can't find any info on the removal of the Oil Filter Housing or any torque specs. Does anyone know where they have it hidden in there?

Is it difficult? The stealer wants close to $1000 CDN (which isn't that much in the US but a lot in Canada) to replace both axles on my car.

Nope. sorry to say it, but this will be the 15th Cigar Salon at MOTD in 2019. That's a good place to stop. My grandpa used to say: 'always leave a party when you are having fun. Tthen, there will be no regrets for having overstayed and the party has gotten stale in the meantime'. Intelligent man, my grandpa, and I have always followed his advice.

I'll miss the event, for sure, but I will NEVER miss the drives down and back in those on again/off again crappy weather conditions.

I have had good luck with all season tires in the snow here in Western Washington, but we only get a few snow days a year here and sometimes not at all.
