Tire change day for the Clubman since my son was home from school to help. Found a nail in the tread of one of my "summer" tires, so need to get that fixed now.. It was still holding air. I'll be waiting a few more weeks till I do my 2002 Cooper.
You have inspired me to put snow shoes on Skooby the clubster. Done & now resting up, I am getting to old to do this stuff. My son is in Vancouver so it was all on me.
I made dealing with the wheels by getting a battery impact gun. For some reason it seems a lot easier. I pull my wheels 3 or 4 times a year. I don't worry about snow ,but with white wheels they need cleaning a lot.
I bought a Ryobi battery impact a couple of years ago. Without it I'd still be out there jumping on a breaker bar. White wheels look great, but I could never put up with the care they'd need.
You are right about the white wheels, but my car looks total different with black wheels. With white wheels it pops.
I’m not a black wheel fan although some cars really do look great with them. I absolutely agree that your car looks fantastic with white wheels.
Another motoring milestone crossed. If I hadn't retired last year, and COVID hadn't hit, closing offices et al, I would have crossed 320,000 at the end of last year. So I am running a bit behind. The car needs timing chain guides and a new clutch. But I can't afford it right now. Those who claim the R53 MINIs were unreliable probably never actually ever owned a MINI themselves. They're just jealous of all the MINI owners with big grins on their faces.
I got my winter tires on just before the cold weather and snow hit the Vancouver BC (Canada) area. Since the tire shops were busy, I hauled out my compressor and air gun, (breaker bar and torque wrench also) and invite a bunch of local MINI club members over to do a tire change tech session at my place. A couple of people came over and took me up on the invite.
A few weeks ago, I started setting a MINI club drive to bring toys to a local annual toy drive. MINI Canada saw my posting and decided they would sponsor the event. They're bringing MINI Swag and bicycles! So if you are in the Vancouver BC area, you are welcome to join us. https://www.facebook.com/events/856995008657268
Since there’s no snow or salt on the roads now I’ve been getting in some drives before old man winter takes over.
We had a big snow last week, still a bit of snow on the lawns. I might get out and Wash. the MINI Countryman on Sunday, maybe 57 if we are lucky.
I might try a wash tomorrow as it’s going to be mid forties but towards the end of next week it looks the party’s gonna be over for a while with a little bit of snow being called for everyday.
Tire change day for my 2002 Cooper.. Since I have to take out all the other stuff that is usually in the garage to have room to work, I have to do it before it gets too cold out.
I drove GIR into work today. Its been a while but he started right up. Looks like he is back to being my DD for a while. I need to start putting more money to my seat fund.
Today I went down and started Checkers today. He started easy. The wife's car was a little harder, but it did start. Both car don't get driven much. My truck (2007 Tacoma) has over 200k her car(2005 350SLK) has 78k and the Mini(2005 Sa) has45k. You can tell what I drive most of the time.
Early yesterday morning, the Vancouver MINI Cooper Club, sponsored by MINI Canada and the 3 MINI dealerships in the area, brought toys to the annual Vancouver Christmas Wish Toy Drive to donate for under privileged families.
