Chicago MINI Motoring Club drive to a Wisconsin Drive-in. We had about 30 MINIs and we experienced rain, snow flakes, sleet, and sunshine along the way, while finding some fun roads. Here is a link to more pictures https://www.flickr.com/photos/ernestovumbles/albums/72177720307699461
Some of the changes are to make it easier to take care of. Like the new coolant is chrome and not polish and the CAI is power coated instead of black chrome. The CAI was losing it's shine because of the heat in the engine compartment. I like to keep up to keep things fresh.
Here we go again. I was looking over my new parts ( I've had for months) and find I need to clean a few things up. One the CAI need the ram air hole punched out and maybe power costed again. Two then the coolant tank chrome is poor so I'll get it redone. I wonder what's next. What's why I'm never done.
I went out and started up the MINI and backed it out of the garage.... Grabbed my sweetheart and took a back road, two hour trip, out in the country, for an ice cream sundae..... Tom's Ice Cream Bowl served up their first scoop in 1948... Small town USA... The weather was great, and the traffic was virtually non-existent... Time spent with my wife on this small adventure... priceless... Left with a pound of warm salted cashews for the drive home....
I have a question for you guys. Have you had a problem with venders not coming through with there services. I use to be able to count on them to furnish good produce., but lately that not so. The decals I got were not really even close and some chrome work I had last year I'll have to have it redone.
It’s been hit or miss with me. I ordered hat from speed gear and they never bothered to tell me it was back ordered.
I might have jumped to my conclusions to soon. I took my strut brace back to be redone and he said they would redo it not no charge. Hooray.
I signed up for Mini Meets West 2023 and booked a room. 5 days Should be fun. I'm going down a day early so I can wash Checkers and get ready for the car show. It's being sponsored by MOASF (mini owner's America San Francisco) so there should be a bunch of classic cars. MOASF is primarily classics minis.
Yes it should be, but now i know why I keep wishing it was the good old days. The room and show will be $1 K
And here’s the statement that other people always say, “Hey, it’s only money.”, because it’s real easy to spend other folk’s money.
It's not that I mind spending money ,but what you get out of it. I know It's my choice to spend my money were I want. And as you say it's only money.
Going to have to find a day in the next week or so to wash, claybar and wax my car. I just entered my car into the All British Field Meet at Vancouver's VanDusen Gardens. https://www.westerndriver.com/?p=14091 I hesitate because 17 years ago, they didn't want us to enter because our MINIs weren't British. Now that our cars a nearing collectible status (25 years old), they want us back.
I think you should enter. Sounds like an enjoyable day at a nice venue. Your MINI deserves to be enjoyed by others.
