:cornut: Ranger Captain Jack Coffee Hays County(Buda, Kyle, and San Marcos) is my old stomping ground. GCC for now but there's method to my madness; get in the door as a student, get to know people and get an instructor's position(Good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise). Jason
Done the same m'seff. Can't spell any better either. Went back to the ol' alma mater for a few hours of what seemed interesting at the time. Even raised my GPA. Co-eds don't respond well to gray beards. ...but one did respond to my sexy BRG XKE roadster back in the day and she makes a he!! of a great MINI co-pilot.
OK, so we went to Chevy's for dinner with some friends... Drank 2 margaritas and decided to relinquish the keys to my better half. Honest to God, more stick time is definately in order if this is going to happen again...... Just say'n. :nonod:
Jason, I grew up more or less in Grayson County (out past Pottsboro), and attended GCC & SESU... and dated a girl from Austin College. But this was way back in the late '60s - early '70s. I love it up there. Happy motoring! P.M.
Picked up my new MINI yesterday afternoon at Momentum Mini in Houston. Still early but WOW, less than 50 miles into it with much to learn and so far I am very impressed. Coming from and Explorer the cornering is nothing I had imagined and the acceleration! The most comments I've gottehn are "It's big!", well thats what they all say.....
Decided, what the hey..... and packed the car this morning so I could go to the dragon after work. Nothing like planning for a getaway :cornut:
I actually did this to the MINI last weekend, but I finished the write-up today. Built and installed a bracket for my satellite radio.
Took a picture of my MINI after an early morning run at MINIs on the Dragon in the lower Fontana dam area.
Shades of Donald Shimoda. A beautiful shot but where is the bug jerky on the grill and head lights and road schmutz on the wheels and door panel?
Attended the local NASCAR stock cars/modified/kart races with the Mini Club of Austin. Took my 7 year old grandson to his first car races. Did some hot laps of Thunderhill Raceway with 20 other MINIs. Three (3!) Midnight Black Clubmans in the 95 degree Texas heat. In the paddock behind a Countryman and a Gen. 1 MCS/JCW/GP. Very nice car! 21 MINIs starting to roll on the Thunderhill Raceway back straight. The grandson with his ear protection in place. "What's that you say!?!" The Hobbit Hearse on the track during driver introductions.
WHAAAAA???? MINI Club of Austin? I had no clue. I just moved here. I was in San Antonio today though. I coulda been Midnight Black MINI #4.
