You never know how voting will go at a car show. Maybe those two MINIs had a bunch of friends that voted for them.
Air filter maintenance for the MINI (and for my Sunbeam) The K&N drop-in didnt look bad, but it turned out to be pretty dirty. It's drying now, and will get oiled and put back in tomorrow.
I'm not sure if it was a popular vote, but that was my assumption. Been to quite a few car shows & every one was popular vote. Maybe checkers can let us know.
Haven't done this yet, but it is TPMS sensor time for Skooby. At 15 years the old the sensor batteries are dying. Next week I'll have Discount Tire install 4 new ones. Yes I could find the dead one & replace just it. But sooner or later I'd be casing my tail with more dead sensors.
Rinsed off Checkers today and cleaned the wheels. I ordered a power washer and I will get in a couple days. Then I'll do a better job of washing it. Then detail it and wait for the next event.
I had a gasoline powered one for a number of years but when time came to replace I also went with an electric model. It’s not quite as powerful as the gas one but oh so much quieter.
The electrizicle ones work well. More than enough power methinks... So yesterday I was treated with the what does this funny thing on the speedometer mean? Burned out parking light, oh joy... This morning I proceeded to replace both of them. Not terribly difficult, but pretty tough on an old fart. At least I didn't have to put the car in service position.
Electric is the only way. I got a power washer and a battery powered leaf blower for blowing off the water after I wash it.
I inherited a gasolene power washer from my FIL when he passed... Made by Generac 1900psi @ 2.5 GPH with a 3.75 HP engine... I fill the small tank and it gets me through a washing with no issues... I've never been comfortable with electricity and water, so I'm fine with the gas... I'm not sure what they use on the electric units, but I doubt it's as high as 3.75 HP... The volume and pressure is key to blasting crud when power washing is important... Probably not so much with car washing... A power washer sure comes in handy over and above car washing... Blasted all the lichen off my wood lawn furniture in short order... Blasted the dark growth on the concrete walk... PW do come in handy for making chores a lot easier around the house...
I haven't got the pressure washer yet but the stats say 1700psi and 2 GPM. It doesn't say the HP, but I only need it to wash the car, it's light weight and it was 100.00 dollars.
Being a lazy old fart I hire a local guy for all my power washing needs. Had a power warsher, but when we moved into the condo it was sold in the garage sale.
You got the best deal... You just point and say... Power wash dat.... and dat.... and dat... Now git... And stay off my grass...
In celebration of Skooby getting new TPMS sensors I gave it a nice warsh job. Shiny Hot Chocolate paint makes Lady Babs happy.
