:cornut: Performed an experiment with Margi(08 R56 MCS/JCWm) concerning engine operating temp and its effect on 'blow by' production levels as captured by the OCC. Wrote it up and sent it off to Matt Richter PhD(Dr Obnxous) at MC2 Magazine. We'll wait and get his comments. Jason
Drove from Fontana back to Jersey :-( 14 hours in the MINI and cleaned all the bugs off the road, so if your headed back to Jersey the roads clear!
Donald Shimoda? I'm curious about this one. Elaborate more? Bug jerky and road schmutz clean off before I took the pics. Cheers!
Well, it was worth the trouble. Looks like it just came out of it's garage. "Illusions - The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" by Richard Bach. Richard is barn storming in his Fleet bi-plane camped in a hay meadow when Donald (the Reluctant Messiah) lands in his Travel Air making a perfect approach, cross control skid and three point landing and joins Richard. After flying from wherever he had been, there is not an oil stain, bug or even blade of grass from the landing scaring the Travel Air. After a long association with Donald, Richard begins to understand why and the why of many other things about Donald. One of the quotes from the messiah's hand book: "You are never given a wish without being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however." So, if you wish your MINI to be spotless...well. One of my favorites: "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours".
Drove home from Fontana, 7 hours for me. Left at 5:20am & drove Hell-bender, the entire dragon as well as the Foothills Parkway alone in the dark. It was quite a beautiful experience. The moon was full & low in the sky. I just cruised & thought of rallies I'd done in the past. Watching the sun come up behind the wheel in such a place is magical. This morning drive made the whole whole trip a very memorable one. Great friends & a great drive it does not get better than that.
Just finished un-packing the MINI. What a great 4 days! Didn't drive as much as I thought I would, but really enjoyed the drives I did do. Had a blast at Brew Swap/karaoke (maybe to much fun at karaoke!), got to spend time with great friends, and met new friends.
I used to imagine throwing bricks at swarming bugs to kill them. Now I don't have to imagine it anymore. ;-)
OK wise guy. I stopped in Roanoke to visit my sister. Otherwise I would have been home yesterday too, even with a justa. Jim
