Took the MINI out for a run today and got the candy corn down to something less than one candy (19 miles to empty)... Stopped by Sheetz and filled the tank with 100% ethanol free... Took 12.64 gallons of the pure stuff... Getting it ready for hibernation...
Chicago MINI Motoring Club annual end of season drive to Starved Rock state park.. We take a scenic 75 mile back road drive to a historic state park west of Chicagoland. Start was at one of the local dealerships who provided coffee and donuts and a place to hang out. Great weather brought out 30 MINIs for a fun drive and chance to explore the park. 210 miles of MINI driving door to door for me.. Got Scooby's wheels ready for the snow tyre change over. Aired up & cleaned. If I'm allowed access to my sweeties MINI tomorrow the snow shoes go on and the rubber floor mats go in.
I'm holding off as long as I can.. probably till it is too late. Both MINIs have all seasons so if we get caught in a small/medium storm it wont be terrible, but the snow tires are better.
It doesn't snow enough here to get snow tires. When it does snow, I just stay home. It doesn't usually stay around long anyway.
Took my wife to lunch today in Columbus, Ohio to the South Village Grille... Tuesday special was stuffed peppers for $12.00... Excellent lunch... Split a salad with her... There were pieces of savory goat cheese and dried currents and almonds... Very tasty...
Drove around picking up items for Thanksgiving dinner. Discovered that new hatch struts will be needed in the near future. Also driving the little guy around just never fails to make you smile.
Took the 11 Countryman out for a local store run, second 4 inch snow since Wednesday eve, it was 15 degrees and not so nice roads here in Colorado All 4 tires went to the low pressure on the service computer and the battery is tossing the low charge idiot light, car on hoist message. Will mess with it when I get back from Virginia. Maybe we will get a 50s day in December when I get back. MINI is going to stay dirty, hope it starts when I want to fill those low tires. Btw, happens every year, was hoping I did not need a new battery since I was hoping to make it to Spring and change of the 11 to something newer. Have some safe trips for the Holiday season and Merry Christmas to all. Don
Today, I've set up a Christmas Toy run to coincide with the Vancouver Christmas Wish toy drive and got MINI Canada to get on board. If you happen to be in the Vancouver BC (Canada) area on the early morning of December 13, please join us. If you don't have a MINI, let me know and I'll find somebody you can ride along with. https://mini.ca/en/discover/driveforbiglove. https://www.facebook.com/events/307980822126079
Starting a new project. Found some F56 seats crazy cheap. This little tab comes a little too close for my liking to the trim. Can anyone tell me its purpose?
After a trip out to Virginia and the MINI CM sitting dirty in the garage for 8 days, I washed it yesterday at the brushless/touchless wash on a nice 68 degree December day. Today it is clean and the wife took it to the local grocery, still clean as it is going to snow tonight. Gotta love Colorado. The 2011 Oxford green is still shiney, but the stripes are really shot, cracks and all. Trying to decide if I should take them off and have the MINI paint corrected or just put on new stripes after these are removed. Not going to keep the MINI much longer, maybe 18 months. Just clicked 94000 miles. Any thoughts? Insights? Don
Not a fan of stripes but the most economical choice would be to replace them especially if’n you’re not going to be keeping it for much longer.
