I washed and waxed the car.... Hey Jim... Used Banana Gloss and no white on the trim..... Go figure!
I don't know why nobody else had that problem. It wasn't my imagination. I don't have one of those. Jim
Jim- Pre-wow that Richard the Octaneguy sells worked wonders on removing the wax from the plastic wheel well trim on Babs MINI. Follow that with Black-wow & you will be pleased.
I am still on the road, but washing off the road rash/bugs as I can. I will have to do a very harsh Pre-Wow and Black Wow when I get back at the end of the week. Wonderful product! I need to do the Wife's CM too, I imagine it has not been washed for 3 weeks. :cryin: Btw, Missouri back roads are not good for your MINI, no pavement, big azz rocks and ruts like the Grand Canyon. :mad2:
Yikes! Hate to hear this...we have plenty that are *delightful* for a MINI. Reminds me of a time I was faithfully following a Garmin routing to a friend's alpaca farm near New London, two-up on our K12 motorcycle. We went from US61 or US54 to MO19 to County-H to..."lanes" and "roads", the last of which wasn't gravel, but that golf ball+ sized crushed rock. Several white-knuckled miles ensued, ending with a stream crossing that featured a good 8" bed of silt on each bank. Um, no. More white-knuckled riding to get back to pavement, along with plenty of Garmin-cursing. :incazzato:
The MINI is in the carriage house here on the farm, it is getting dusty from the light traffic on the country road. First order of biz on Thursday when I drive back to Colorado, is brushless/high pressure carwash on the first fill up. Otherwise, nice stay here in MO.
Here's a couple shots of our Mother's Day at Hearst Castle and yesterday on California's beautiful Pismo Beach.
Went for a 60 mile road test, then a wash. These new tires are amazing. It is like having a completely new car. I wish I had done this "before" MOTD, but there is always next year. :biggrin5: Jim
Washed it, sorta, took it throught the touchless car was...knocked all the big stuff from the drive back from MOTD. Filled it with gas to prepare for a big Saturday outing Mid-Ohio Motoring Donuts in the AM, then off to Detroit for the Detroit Tuned Spring Clean Up... Will I see any of you there???
Yepper, I don't have the turbo or the supercharger, so I have to keep the weight at each corner down, so there is not so much weight to get turning. I have experimented and found that with this combination, I have better gearing. No extra HP, but she moves out smartly around 25K, where before I needed to be around 3K+. Entirely different story with an NA engine. Jim
Holy carp Jim 25,000 RPM is huge. Do you think you are over revving that little French lump under the hood. Nothing wrong with 15 inch rims if the baloney's are large enough. A light wheel & tire package pays many dividends. Back on topic.... I coated my car MINI with 275 miles of back road flying bugs. What a fun way to get a car dirty.
