I installed everything yesterday and then turned the car on and the infotainment system came up and I was able to get CarPlay set up and running without issue. When I turn my mini on, CarPlay automatically comes up which is what I wanted. It took me a minute to figure out how to get everything set up regarding the new infotainment but once set up it is a very nice upgrade. Music streams as expected. The digital speedometer display however requires coding to remove the many errors that come up (this is a known issue while upgrading to this display) and to function properly. This is the only thing left for my upgrade, coding in my digital speedometer. Here are a few pictures showing my upgrade in my F56 JCW, I love the updated display and functionality it provides.
Only thing left for my install is to do the necessary coding then it should be complete. Hard part is coordinating with the coder to do this. It should be done soon though.
I got my digital speedometer and 2023 Infotainment 8.8” touchscreen upgrade completed today. I got @Bimmer Fixes to remote into my PC this afternoon and make the necessary coding to make everything work perfectly. The upgrade looks absolutely amazing and gives my 2017 JCW a new facelift interior.
Looks really nice and the best part is that the installation went according to plan without any problems.
It has been a few days since my install and I have put some mileage on my Mini with my upgraded setup and I’m happy to report everything has been functioning perfectly as expected. This is an expensive upgrade if you’re using brand new OEM components like I did but the end result is absolute OEM functionality which is what I wanted for my Mini. I’m very happy with the final result.
yesterday was a 375 mile roadtrip in the Clubman to Crawfordsville, IN to see my daughter's music concert.
I installed brand new carbon fiber mirror caps on my JCW this morning before taking my car out for a drive. I like how they tie in my carbon fiber Eventuri hood scoop. I like the new look
The OE mirror caps that were on my car was scratched up by the previous owner so I replaced them for these carbon fiber mirror caps to “clean up” my car’s appearance.
I have heard you can get some high HP out of those with just a tune. I believe it is the same tune used on the BMW.
I'm running 225/45/17s and they workout just fine. I like the look it fills the well and gives me a larger sidewall for a potholes.
