Worshed my MINI..... Doing Squat Thrusts.... Gettin ready for the big donut munch tomorrow mornin....
I took the phony grill thing in the scoop out, to open it up with a Dremel tool. I thought this'd look alright with no screen at all in it! So I put the scoop back with nothin' in the hole. I like it! Dave
Well in the beginning of the week I put in the ploy trans mounts and there was vibration. So today I removed the BSH lower engine mount and put a stocker back in and the vibrations are gone! Also re-calibrated my O2 sensor for my A/F gauge as it was getting a little wonky. Now just waiting for the sun to pass so I can give RDNZL a good bath... Looks like a beer front is moving in soon
Installed Hella Supertone horns to replace the crappy OEM horns, one of which was dead, and the other sounded like a dying reindeer. Now my car sounds like a MINI should sound. My wife and our dog both hate me. Because they're LOUD. And, according to them, obnoxious. Which is what a useful horn should be....
Oh - was driving home from a co-workers house yesterday, and saw two groundhogs right on the edge of the road, thinking about jumping out in front of me. I've NEVER seen groundhogs in my part of the state before. Never. I think the groundhog union is bussing in protesters to torment me.
After giving me such a fine ride over hill & dale yesterday I gave the old girl a well deserved day off. Full spa treatment for her in the morning.
Hey Jim did ya get the white bird smoosh off the black? You are correct in not using Black wow on the tires. I use stoner's More Shine. I spray it on & then wipe it off. What is left is a nice matte black tire that looks new & not shiny. If you like a shine don't wipe it off.
Corssed 65K miles today... Drove to donuts Drove to Detroit Tuned Drove to Home. Nary a hiccup from the MINI , Thank you Chad.
Completed an overnight trip to Mini Mania's 12th Annual Nevada City Adventure. Awesome time, meeting lots'a great folks. Look forward to next year! Here's a few pics...
Hey Jim, Prima had that new tire product at the Dragon the name escapes me right now and I'm too lazy this morning to go in the garage to get the name but it just wipes on and leaves a matt finish also. I'll get the name later. Prima Infinity
When I run outa the Stoned stuff I'll try going with some infinity & beyond. I washed 1.5 tons of dead bug off her pretty little face.
I pulled mine into the shop and started waxing it. I got the whole thing deep cleaned and the clamshell waxed. I pulled the cowl vents and cleaned & waxed underneath them and while they were out, they got 303'd. My wiper arms pretty horrible, but I found that an application of deep cleaner and wax got them back to the proper satin black. I covered it up on the carport, then did a quick wash job on the B4C Camaro. I locked the Camaro up in the shop, tossed the waxing rags into the washing machine, and went grocery shopping. Not a bad day.
I parked it in the garage rode hard a put away wet. Prior to that was an 1840 mile romp that included: The largest twine ball in the world, got a ride in a restored 189? Lutzmann only it had a Briggs/Stratton 'cause there weren't any parts for the original engine, a couple of days chasing all over the Black Hills including Sturgis and the Badlands, almost clear across SD on Rt 44 seeing only a hand full of cars on the road. Saw a few MINIs on the way out of KS. North out of McCook across Nebraska then back thru a few days later, never saw one MINI. Saw 3 in or around Keystone, SD. I have to ask, is C.O.R.N. a myth? Oh yeah, tomorrow is reserved for a total spa treatment. If there is any question as to what the term 'bugs in your teeth' means, I've got a picture. Just have to download it first. Feet up with a cold beer for now...Ta.
