That's how I pronounce it too and my wife won't let it go. Thanks for the confirmation. Solidarity? (Learned if from a real good friend who lived in Seattle, Woarshington making him the authority).
Yeah..... "Woarshed the MINI" sounds like I'm really getting it cleaned..... Much much cleaner than simply..... "washed the MINI"....
Met with the "Drive n Eat" Crew, 8 MINI's and a great drive through west central Jersey crossed the Delaware into PA for some great lunch and ice cream!! Thanks to JohnW for the great drive today!
Gave both MINI's the day off. We took the Not N MG for a romp on the back roads. Ice cream at the Old Mill in Utica. :drool
So, I noticed that the pasenger rear brake does not seem to be bedding in like the others. Spent most of the day over at a friends house trying to get this brake corrected. (It's good to have a friend with his own lift at home :biggrin5 What I noticed is that the outer edge of the outside of the rotor is wearing the coating off, while the inside edge of the backside of the rotor is also the same. You can kind of see the outer edge is wearing but not the entire face. Seems to me, The line might need bleeding? (didn't have time to bleed and replace lines today) The caliper is not working correctly and therefore the pads are not making contact. The rotor is warped and the pads are not going to make full contact and wont until they wear down. My buddy took the car out for a little road test and pulled a couple of hand brake stops and could not get the right rear to lock up but the left did. Any other thoughts?
Washed (regular pronunciation, but did a good job) Little Wing around dawn. Motored to Jacksonville. Washed Little Wing again, but it was quick and easy. Joined the Jacksonville Area Mini Motoring club at Tom Bush Mini for the sponsored event "Take Mini to the Ball Game." Watched the Jacksonville Suns beat the Jackson Generals twice! Yay Suns! Wet, muddy conditions prevented our planned Mini parade around the field. That was a good thing in retrospect. All the cars would have needed another wash immediately. We still had a great time. Many thanks to Tom Bush Mini for their support of the Mini community! Thanks too for the great food. Fun day!
Thanks! The R53 is pretty easy to find; my understanding is that the R52 version wasn't available in the US until recently. First link I found for the hatch version was Outmotoring: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-cooper/mini_cooper_clear_third_brake_light.html
I had to give up after wrestling with the small side for 30+ min. The large side was easy; the small side was so tight it was shaving silicone bits off as I tried to fit it. Using the recommended bent awl tool, I could (eventually) get it on either the engine side or the intercooler side, but never both at the same time.
I ending up shaving off some of the silicone on the small coupler, boiling it for about 7 minutes, and putting a little engine oil on the inside of it to get it on. I think the toughest part was getting everything back together. I didn't have a bent awl so a mixture of some other tools had to suffice. Glad they are on though!!
Hate to say it folks, but those fancy silicon I/C boots...yeah, in the long run you'll probably be back to OEM. Been there, done that.
