Oh, it's vinyl then? I was just looking at Ruby Red the other day... I'm trying to add a bit more red, get rid of all the orange. Have you done your side lights/reflectors?
Nope, it's spray-on. Yes, the side markers and turn signal bulbs on the side scuttles are done as well. See my garage: http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/member-garages/11673-ryu-2006-mini-cooper-s.html#axzz1yFXjx0GV
Well "done" the chrome game.... although I am ordering an aero bumper and grilles in July. So does anybody need a BRG bumper? :biggrin5:
Crossed over 64K miles driving myself to the Urgent Care to have my thumb closed-up after having and unfortunate meeting with a kitchen knife.
Just jacked the motor up to replace the tensioner. Found out it's the crank vibration damper. We miss our car. 4 hours away from a dealer. Fabricating tools. Trying to budget for parts. We love our car, but Geez! 06 MCS Checkmate, 128k. Yellowstone, Salt Lake, Silverton, Juarez, Key West and Little Rock. Been there, goin' again soon.
In recovery mode from yesterday's gasoline bath. Yesterday, Pre Wow and Black Wow. Thought since I had it out and was using it, may as well go over all the black trim, not just the wheel arch that got the gas. Today: Hydro Wash Hydro Seal Again, just did the whole car, but put 2 coats of Hydro Seal on the gasoline panel. Will do another coat of Hydro Seal tomorrow. Now, I was going to use Epic under the Hydro Seal, but I get so confused about this. It looks like the folks at Prima recommend Hydro Seal first, then Epic - if you want to use Epic at all. Octane Guy does it the other way around, *I think.* I can't seem to get this straight. I have been maintaining with Hydro, since coming home from the Dragon and using the clay bar, then 2 coats Epic, then 2 coats Hydro Seal. What do y'all do? I am confused. I've never used Banana Gloss and feel like I'm missing out on something. I also scrubbed the wheels, used Sonax Full Effect, then a Sonax tire gel. Then it was dark and I couldn't see, so I'll check out the tires tomorrow. I may not be doing this right, but Little Wing is really looking shiny!
1) Me too, it should be okay. I only cut halfway through. I can say the Cutco knives we got for a wedding gift are SHARP. :eek6: It will take a bit to heal. Doctor thought my initial wrap-job was effective and hilarious. Bandage to hold pressure/keep wound closed covered with a paper-towel and packing tape (it was what was handy) for excess blood. 2) Yep. Good thing my wife likes that sorta thing...:ihih:
Next time pluck some hair & sew that bad boy closed. Glad you are OK, bet you are going to be careful around sharp pointy things from now on. Next lesson, FIRE good, Fire HOT!!! Went out at 6:30am & warshed the MINI. Just got back indoors. Cleannn!!!
Thought about washing the MINI........way too hot.....drove it instead. Besides it is so fast now, the dirt keeps me closer to a law abiding speed. Jim
That is why I go out early & do car cleaning chores. Much cooler then. Too hot later. Now I'm looking out the window & admiring my work.
I am heading out into the heat to continue my work on Little Wing. Thinking about cleaning the engine bay as it's never been done. I didn't even know that people do that until I saw bonnets up at the Dragon. I read the thread in Detailing a few hundred times, but am scared to death that I will hurt the engine. Crazy...ut: Red Beard I hope you thumb is getting better. Finger tips can be very painful. Take meds :beer
