I did it! I cleaned the engine bay: Before - bad photo, should have gotten closer. It was dull and dusty, but not really terrible. Sprayed with Simple Green, diluted 1:10 Wiped down Rinsed Sprayed with Nero Took a drive Returned home and wiped down the engine Installed the oil supply line shield Done for now Now that I made a stab at it I can see nooks and crannies to get into next time. I need some of those refrigerator brushes. Like everyone said, this was not the big deal that I made it out to be. This will be easy to add on to my normal detail routine. Maybe I'll even learn what some of that stuff in there does. Thanks for all the support and encouragement.
Beutiful job Anna! Got some bad news for you though. It's a little know fact that activities like that awaken dormant OCD genes. It's OK though, you'll find good company in 'The Ward'.
My husband would love for some OCD genes to wake up in me! Like maybe "detailing" the fridge... Nope, I can only focus on my MINI.
Looks awesome! I'm inventing ways to reach everything in my little cramped engine bay. I'm trying out different tools to reach all those little places my hands can't get to.
Yes, good eye. Everything looks great and clean, no signs of bottoming out or remains of any road kill  The GP underbody panels were interesting. Just plastic with lots of fasteners. You can see the orange lifting blocks used too, which are required due to the body kit.
JMC40 and I installed the NM CAI from his Clubbie on Yertle. Also replaced the white side marker lights with the tinted ones he had. Now I need to order the side reflector tint from Outmotoring.
Dropped off a set of wheels to the local Discount Tire so they can mount up the new tires at their leisure once they come in. Thanks for use of a bigger than my MINI vehicle to get them there too...it would of been a very tight squeeze. Was amazed the R888's built in the 25th week of 07 that are on those wheels are still so soft. Proper storage does work.
Headed out on a 50 trip to check on one of our horses after the storm that went through Northern VA last night. Around 253 miles later I made it back home. Detours lead me over some really cool roads (there are only so many places one can cross the Potomac River), but I also found the mass of humanity out there distressing. Good thing Foggie is so much fun to drive, or I would be a basket case right now. Jim
Good thought. I haven't taken Foggie on that yet. I was up near Harper's Ferry. There was an accident on the bridge, so I had to double back and cross at Brunswick, then over to Boonsboro and across the Waynesboro, then home. Jim
