Not yet.... It's pointing to either a blown shock or a gasket on the filter housing (since I just had the oil changed last week). I mention the shock because the boot is pulled up and the shock is covered in oil/grease.... Along with the wheel well and wheel. Anyway, I have my MINI crew coming over for a 4th of July BBQ tomorrow so they can help me figure it out
I'm guessing the hydraulic motor mount has failed. It is a common problem on R53 MINI's. I'm on my 3rd one. Edit.... My last one leaked into the wheel & made a mess.
I thought mine was too, but after closer examination it proved to be the mount. You might also want to check the CV joint boots for tears.
Replaced the rear spoiler pieces (that's what the dealer called them) with the GP version. Look close Jim ;-)
OK, I think is see it now. Adds a bit of an up flip to the lower edge? Remember, I don't have a JCW........yet. Looks good. Jim
Drove my car to work..... Turns out it was the actual shock that exploded crap all over my car. When it was taken out yesterday it collapsed immediately. Luckily my RM crew came over yesterday... one of which is one of my mechanics. He had a spare laying around and put it on for me MINI friends kick ass!
Wow I'm at almost 110,000 & my stock shocks are still working, shocking I know. :smile5: Glad you got it taken care of.
