It is always handy to have a friend or two around who just happen to have all of the custom tools needed to work on your car and a garage full of spare parts! I've handed out the spare clutch slave I cary in the boot a few times and have gotten friends back on the track when belts shredded or parts died. Lord only knows how many times I've had parts go out and I had to revert back to the stock bits waiting on the shelf in my garage!
Located and loaded my 4x power outlet for plenty of connections on our trip to Chicago / Des Moines / MTTS2012 beginning on Sunday. Oh, and clicked over 6,000 miles since delivery on 3/28/12 (and no issues so far). Motor on!
Dropped off my header at my exhaust shop to have a new flex joint installed. Last one lasted a long time given the amount of abuse with bad engine mounts, etc.
Last night I used my new toy finally on RYU... My Flex Orbital Polisher. Gave RYU a nice coat of Epic. He's all shiny today :ihih: Figured I owed it to him from his shock going boom all over the side of him :mad2:
Rolled down the windows, turned up the music (George Harrison, All Things Must Pass) and exceeded the speed limit. No better way to start the day.
Thank you I haven't tried Hydro Seal. First time I used Epic and I like it. Going to buy some freakin' awesome wax next to use with the sealant
Rotated tires on my car using my jack and jack stands I bought today. Then I put the NM torque arm on my wife's car.
I'm installing a 3rd brake light pulsar, rear seat delete and removing my useless rear wiper today. In 110* weather. The joys of getting one day off a week... Lol.
Love the rear brake pulsar, I feel it really helps wake up brain dead tailgater's. I couldn't live without the rear wiper. Here in the winter it is a must if you want to see out the back window. Stay hydrated...
Both installs went very well. I was surprised as I had basically no idea what i was doing till I actually got outside and started ripping things apart. The pulsar is pretty sweet. Went for a cruise to the gym after getting things done and already noticed it catches the attention of people behind you. Especially that dude in the Mustang riding my ass. Not that he stayed there long... Lol. I removed the rear wiper because all I can notice it does is catch dirt, and allow spiders to form webs there. Plus, I've motored almost five thousand miles in my new MINI and haven't used it once. (Never used it in my old MINI either.) Here in PA our winters aren't terrible. So I'm not too worried about it. Especially since I'll be joining the Jeep crew soon. Planning on grabbing myself a nice Wrangler as it get closer to Fall time to relieve the MINI of daily driver duty in bad conditions.
Headed out to Portland International Raceway with the PDXMINI crew for the Portland Historic Races. Got to do a parade lap around the track and even got to do my first autocross. It was a great day!
