I installed my radar detector and a hardwire kit. It tucked in nicely in the headliner and pillar so no modifications to the car had to be made.
I gave mine the day off while the sweetie & I drove the back roads in our little roadster in search of ice cream. We we successful, found some nice new roads for us & ice cream. All in all a very good day.
Waiting for mine to be done with warranty service. They are replacing the radio due to missing pixels when hot out and fixing the "clunk" in the clutch pedal when it is depressed. I have grown really tired of the loaner Toyota Camry and want my MINI back.
After reading all the stuff about the MSD coils I decided to put the oem one back in even though I've had no problems for three years. Better safe than sorry.
Technically I didn't mount the splitter today, but last weekend before my 1000+ mile trek through Kentucky twisty hills (OK, not all the roads were twisties, but most were). It stayed on the whole time, too And I must say, the splitter also allowed me to run a known road of mine at a significantly higher speed than earlier.
So far I haven't had any problems, even on driveways and speed bumps that I thought would cause issues. It hangs a less than a half inch below the bumper (there are rubber washers between it and the bumper), and is a little less than a half inch thick. The splash guard hangs beneath it. I'll measure it tomorrow and take a pic from underneath as well.
Sweet. Like I said, I'm pretty curious. Installed looked like it went well by the picture. Sure does look good!
Well the outside water band has been modified to 5-9 am handheld and 5-9pm handheld use, odd/even days. So yesterday after work I watered the Mrs. flowers and then worshed the MINI!
As long as the MINI is not very dirty I've been using Griots spray on car wash. Works well, but requires the use of many microfiber towels. I'm wondering how much water I'm saving because I end up washing all those towels.
Thanks! There's a little bit of a bow to the splitter, high in the center, and at the outside edges a little lower. I think that's due to the effort of keeping the leading edge as level as possible, or possibly the effect of installing it in 100°+ heat. In any event, it works and isn't shuddering or anything like that... It's about 5.5" in the center, and 4.5" at the outer edges. Like I said before though, I'm not scraping any speed bumps (and I have several large ones here at work) or anyone's driveway yet, so it's all good so far. :fingerscrossed:
The wife and I hopped in it and headed to Sonic for another after 8 half-priced chocolate milk shake. That's 11PM for you east coasters.....
