We drove back home from Laguna Seca and the beautiful Monterey Peninsula after a great weekend of auto racing. Enjoy a couple shots from the track... :beer
We just got back from Canada last night in the TR6, the MINI has been in the garage since last Wednesday. Back out this morning for the drive to work!
It sure is!!! The 6-Pack, TR250/TR6 club held the National convention in Niagra Falls this year, hence the drive to Canada. Good thing we're still in Jersey for this one
Went to an eye doctor's appt via some great backroads this morning.... Too bad some putz was in front of my going 10 miles and hour UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT :mad2::mad2::mad2:
Track day in the Poconos with my buddy on Saturday. Rained a bit, but that helped us lower HP cars dominate the higher ones since they couldn't use all of theirs. Near miss with a Viper when he decided to spin out. Luckily I just barely avoided him, less than a foot. Lol. Must say, was nice passing a Viper, M3 and Z06.
Jim... By chance, did you make it to Niagra On The Lake while in Canada? This is another of our favorite Canadian places to visit.... Lots of wine grown in the general vicinity.... Great place to spend a little "down time".... Beautiful area of the country
While motoring to work today I had to turn on my heated seat, as I refuse to roll up the windows unless it is hotter then the surface of the sun, or rain/snow is filling the cabin
Nothing to the mini but I prepped the garage for the minis week long stay when I leave for vacation this week
Thought of that, but also thought I have free towing on our insurance for a reason. Not fun being dead on the side of the road while semi's roar past.
Well, short version of a long story is, I ended up driving my wife's CMS, an hour and a half, through rush hour traffic, to get home and she ended up driving Foggie, which she has never driven. I was not excited about the second part of the above. :nonod: It was strange, not having to shift, but I got use to that. Oddly I found myself listening to the sound of the RPM's and reacting to the throttle as if I was in my justa. Man, that turbo can can get you killed. I really liked the low end torque and being able to cruise around 70 at 2K, with plenty of power available if needed. I am certain that my next MINI will be a JCW, BUT I really feel no great desire to ditch my justa and run out to buy one right now. When my wife arrived home with Foggie, her only comment was, "that car needs a turbo". Jim
