When I got my MINI the mirror caps were Chrome. I had to tune it down so when I was unable to find any Hyper Blue caps got the Union Jack caps. It was ok but not great so today when my wife and I were washing our cars I pointed out that the white stripes on her car would match the Union Jack covers extremely well. A few minutes latter with lots of mirror repositioning and the Union Jacks moved to her car and Hyper Blue moved to mine..
Redbeard I understand about the kids & changes of cars. Life happens as they say. No matter what you drive you will always have friends here. :cornut: Out of the ones on your list I'd sure try to find a nice 4 door GTI. That would fit your needs well me thinks. :yesnod:
Hey JackMac love the mums & the MINI's. I'm thinking about putting my snow shoes on. My all seasons are down to racing depth. Not what I want tomorrow morning.
Well I watched some video's on how to check the Engine air filter and the cabin air filter. I like to have never figured out how the factory hose clamps worked as that wasn't shown on the video's. Does the engine re-circulate the crankcase vapors back into the intake tract as the air filter had a dark oily film on the top? And the cabin air filter was pretty bad as well with lots of trash and real fine dirt particles. I had Advance Auto parts here locally order me a K&N filter for the factory air box as I have quite a bit of K&N air filter oil and cleaner left over from when I had my Scion. And will pick it up Thursday and have to pay up front for them to order me a cabin air filter. Vacuum the car out and wiped down all the leather, the rear window washer on the hatch isn't working. It gets washer fluid to the wiper but is not coming out the nozel the fluid drips into the hatch and leaks out on the rear bumper. there is a little black thing in the line and I tried blowing through it and it is blocked and put a pink inline splice wire connector in it's place bit it's still wouldn't spray. I blew through the short hose and air gets through but it still leaked when hooked up as described above, there is a small thing that the short hose goes into but it didn't want to come out so I could see if there was trash in there as when I took off the hatch cover there was a rusty looking build up on the hoses and around all connections. so for now I'll just not use it till I can figure it out.:confused5:
I drove my Mini to work to day at about 7 am in early hurricane Sandy. I had the roads all to myself along with all the leaves and it made for some fun water leaf drifting with the e- brake. Hahahahahaha Our office closed at 1:00 and I drove home a lot slower. Everything is flooding and trees are coming down everywhere. My Mini is back in the garage and well protected again. Office is closed tomorrow. Yay
I looked at my tires. They were worn to the wear bars. I decided to install my snow shoes. Now my MINI looks a bit different sitting on holey wheels with skinny tires.
Had the front pads changed at 29,9XX miles (dealer says the rotors are fine) and then drove it a couple of hundred miles.
No rain or wind today, but it's still a mess outside. Left the MINI in the garage and took one of the apocalypse vehicles to work
First time driving RDNZL in almost two weeks, only have a 1/4 tank of gas though....... this is the slowest I've every driving the MINI since I bought it.....
