So, yesterday before the hilarity ensued at Dave.0's... I went on a quest to stop a rattle in the dash. I gave up once it required me trying to remove the top of the dash. (I later found the culprit to be the rearview mirror. I will deal with that later). The point to this post is while I was tearing the dash apart... I removed the silver trim rings around the speedo and the two vents on either side of it. Today I Plasti-Dip'd all three. I think I like the look. Next will be removing the silver ring around the tach and spraying that too.
Thanks Mo. I figured I'd go with the easily reversed method first. Given the craptastic weather we had today... not quite good enough for spraying actual paint.
Took the Classic out for a leasurely spin for some food and wound up discovering there's some electrical components that have outlived their usefulness.....
Pulled the summer 18's and put on the All Season 17's. The summers will go back on just before the Dragon
Checked it's status on the Interweb thingy again and found out it has been completed and is awaiting transport across the pond! I'm picturing it in a lounge, sitting in a leather wingback chair, smoking a cigarette, tapping a tire and looking at the clock with a properly shaken dry martini sitting on the side table half finished. Next, a long ride on a slow boat. Perhaps there will be one of those "Murder on the Orient Express" type incidents for it to solve on the way over.
This is why I love working from home when I'm not flying somewhere. When I went to work this morning (at home) Dark Helmet stayed in the garage all snuggly warm with his cover on...and he remained clean with a fresh coat of Banana Gloss. The only dirt I encountered was on the bottom of my slippers when I walked down the driveway to get the newspaper.
Yesterday my MINI took me hiking on one of the tallest mountains in the area...it was AWESOME. Beautiful views, crisp air, wildlife, baby pine trees, pine cones as big as your head, and more!
