Just got back from lunch.... washed the car (it's 37 degrees BTW). Ryu is going in the garage for the weekend
pulled out the spare tire and removed everything that holds it in. now to add a cutout to the rear for another exhaust tip
drove at Carolina Motorsports Park with my instructor, Phil Wicks. Had a great day at my HPDE class that my wife got me for Christmas
Wiped the snow off the car before work tonight. (sorry for the crappy pic.) I know it's not a big deal for the majority of people, but I basiclly don't drive the car in the snow unless I have to, (hell as low as the car is, too much snow & the car just becomes a giant "door stop" ) but tonight was that perfect snow, 2-3" on the grass & trees, and basiclly just wet roads. Funny how every now & then, I get these little realizations, that even with all the mods & all the miles, the car still just does everything it should, in those everyday, daily driver, situations. (turned over 206k on the way to work tonight)
Went out and cleaned most of the snow off the MINI. Let it run for about 20 min to get nice and warmed up then drove it about 3/4 of a block before turning around and parking it on the other side of the street. Those Star Spec's leave a hella lot to be desired when driving on packed snow. I did get a call early Saturday morning that my Blizzaks are in and mounted. However we already had a fair bit of snow on the roads when they called. Hopefully on Monday I can get over there early in the day to get the snow tires, on their horrid winter wheels, installed before we get more of the snow forecast for Monday.
You expected Star Specs to work better in the snow? Trust me, they don't work very well. Why do you think I only went 3/4 of a block before turning around. Totally stupid I'm not, just partially nuts.
With the roads dry in North Columbus I got Dark Helmet out of his lair and took him to get some fresh 93 Octane. He's back in his lair again.
Yesterday I cleaned out Poco, and took his badges off:frown5: to get him ready to hand over to the dealer, for what I hope get's him a nice new owner...
Saturday morning we set out to drive down to Hickory NC! Well now the Countryman has been through dry, rain, snow, salt yuk and finally sunshine all in one day! More weather than RDNZL has ever seen, lol. Engine now broken-in and ready for first oil change! Yes Jim I'm going to change the oil with only 1500 miles, lol. Installed the ScanGauge II this morning so I could read water temp and volts. Tried installing the Sprint Booster but it just doesn't work on the C-Man. Tried various methods with all the same results, so it's going back. Washed all that salt off yesterday, yeah! C-man ran great on the way down!
