Started to get my car ready for a car show. I got first place in my class last year, but this year I,m in the winners bracket so it's time for cleaning and more chrome in the engine bay.
Headed to the links this morning...the long way as usual. Then grocery store this afternoon followed by the florist to surprise the wife. Sometimes I literally strain the brain trying to figure out some reason to run an errand. Tough to keep the miles down that way, but at over 30 mpg, I'll stick to the indirect routes. It's funny...we bought the MINI to be our weekend/fun car...but I just can't seem to ever leave it in the garage! :cornut:
Been practicing a newly (to me) learned technique, for finding the correct line, in a controlled environment, so today I went looking for some real twisties. Found them and it worked. Jim
Jim not to be a smart arse, but the proper line on a public road is in your lane between the lines. Learning how to be a better driver is to be commended, but lines & such should be learned on the track. A BMW school/HPDE is the correct venue. Just my .02...
Perhaps I should have been more clear. Of course I was staying in my lane and that is what I always do. I was using all the road I have (my lane) to the best advantage, by turning in from the white line and apexing at the double yellow, then back to the white, without crossing either. That is all I can do at the Dragon, so I want to learn to do it smoothly. With a MINI, there is a fair amount of road to work with in your lane, so no since not to use it. Jim
Spent yesterday pulling branches and leaves off(Thanks, Irene:mad5....only some minor paint damage. Definitely could have been much worse.... We never lost power, suffered ZERO damage to the house and all of my friends and family are safe! Hope yours are too!!
Decided that Autox'ing on my 360 treadwear DD tires was gonna suck in comparison to the R-S3s. The signed-up for an AutoX anyway...
Nope. I'm selling them along with the wheels they are mounted on. Long story but I'm gonna take a break from track events for a while. Wheels for sale here: Redbeards Wheels and Tires For Sale
Got my PreWow and BW in the mail yesterday. Got off a bunch of wax I had on the trim. I must have been drunk the last time I waxed the car! ut:
Yelled loudly leaving work as I discovered someone left me a 2" dent in the middle of the driver's door. :incazzato:
