My eye glasses lenses felt loose so I went to Wally World as they will make free adjustments for Veterans and I would have to drive all the way to Little Rock and back, a trip of 230 miles round trip and it was only about 10 miles round trip to Wally World. But on the way after I left Wally World there was behind me the cutest young Blond driving a newer model than mine. It was a Chilli Red with the angled White stripes and chrome grill and was a Justa so I gave her a wave and she returned it so there are now around 4 or 5 MINI's around the area now. It's always nice to see another Mini as of yet I have only seen 2 other than mine, the other is a Beautiful British Racing Green. The Import mechanic who is doing my pulley swap said there were only 3 that he knew of besides mine. Over all it made my day.
Nothing like your car to get attention from a hot member of the opposite sex.... or start a conversation. In my case, they are stunned that I know what I'm talking about... silly young men
Used the seat heaters today.....Brrrr!!! .....and yes that is the mileage on my '08. I live very close to work.....
Slid all the way to work. Man do I miss not having snow shoes on this car. Speaking of which, I have a great set of wheels and snow tires for sale off my Gen 1. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/wheels-tires-sale/16430-fs-complete-set-winter-wheels-tires.html for those who may need a set. Shameless plug.
Man you have to stop tempting me with those snow tires. We took Skooby out on a drive. Her winter tires really worked well. No stopping Skooby, well she did stopped when asked to. Now someone buy the snow tires listed above, please!
Mini on snows = embarrassed SUV's today. Not driving at ALL fast or crazy, just driving AROUND them as they played a little sit-and-spin. In bank lobby: "Are all Minis 4 wheel drive?" "No, only the new big ones. Mine's one of the early little fast ones" "Then how are you DOING that?!?" <smile> "Tires... and a little skill..." "And my husband made me drive that huge... THING..." <smile> "Want to come to a Mini Cooper winter driving school on Feb 10?" ... hee hee hee
Nice. Tho I admit I drive our Dodge 2500 on snowy days. So instead of the husband telling me to "drive safe", he says, "try not to kill anyone"
drove to the post office, then back home. Got ready to go to work and left it in the garage out of the rain/freezing rain. Drove the Jeep
Went out for Thai with a friend last night in the snow. What a hoot to drive when the right tires are on the car. We had a blast.
Since we have some fresh powder, and I have only drove the r53 twice in the snow... We drove it in to the diner get breakfast early this morning. Probably the lowest IAT I'll ever see in this car at almost operating temp.
