Why yes the Here still works too. Don't know how I missed that, well yes I know. A guy that I know had a 63 AC Bristol that he bought new as his first car, it is a beautiful original. He sold it a few years ago as it was time for someone else to be the steward of the AC. The new owner took it to the Pebble Beach Concours & even flew my friend out to California so he could be with his pride & joy for its moment in the spotlight.
Finally installed the new mud flaps front and rear. And test fitting the new shoes. Need to figure this out. This is without the 5mm spacer it will need. What to do, what to do.....
I hit a raccoon this morning on the way to work :frown2: SOMEHOW I have no damage?????? :eek6: I need to jack up the car to verify, but if the front bumper (which is the lowest part of the car) is fine, then I'm gonna assume the rest is ok? :fingerscrossed:
Replaced my Belkin bluetooth solution with a similar Kinivo unit (BTC450). Streamed music quality is fine, perhaps a slight improvement, and it auto-connects when I enter the car, a definite improvement.
:cornut: Most of y'all know the story of my '35lb Raccoon Swan Dive Suicide Leap' under the right front bumper of Margi(08 R56 Brg MCS/JCWm) ~ Mar 2012 at night at 65mph. It took out the radiator, oil cooler, AC condensor, Inter cooler, front bumper, right parking and fog light, And I can't remember what else. Total cost $5,000.00. Life goes on. Jason
^ Sorry to say but those R56 MINI's just aren't as tough. Monica be careful. I hit a squirrel & not 10 miles later my alternator went all FUBAR on me. I think squirrels last act was to evoke a spell from Joseph Lucas.
Today, I went to my garage and let my PEPPENSALT know that i keep her colors high against the competition in MINI OF THE MONTH contest... Go PEPPERNSALT! :biggrin5:
:cornut: Groceries, Pharmacy, Coffee Klache, Fuel Up and check fluids/tire pressure. That really took it out of me, the air temp was 63f. Jason
Washed Skooby for Babs. Cleaned the windows on Blu Brit & drive out for pizza with local MINI friends.
Took Daphne to MINI of Dallas for an oil change and state inspection! And got a hug from a lovable MINI tech!
Rear Wiper Delete As a follow-up to my entry a few posts ago, here's a couple pics of the rear wiper delete I just did on my '05 R53. This is pretty much an elementary task that was completed in less than an hour, including beer. All the parts were purchased at the local Ace Hardware for less than two bucks (not including paint and silicone). Here's a suggested parts list and the steps I took to do the job... 1 - 1/4" plastic plug 1 - 1/4" s/s allen cap screw 1 - 1/4" s/s nylock 1 - 3/4" s/s fender washer 1 - 1" s/s fender washer Remove the rear wiper arm from the car. You may have to use a puller to break it loose from the shaft. (Remember to remove the small plastic nozzle from the brass washer tubing first! I didn't...) Remove the rear hatch panel and remove the rear wiper motor. Plug the rubber window washer hose using the 1/4" plastic plug, sealing with clear silicone. Tie the power wire and rubber hose to the hatch with a couple of small zip ties. Drill out the holes in the washers to accommodate the 1/4" screw. (Most all fender washers this size will have a smaller and more proportionately correct hole in them) Paint the 3/4" washer and cap screw with flat black paint and allow to dry. (I used Duplicolor DA 1605 Flat Black) Assemble and seal the 1" inner washer to the OEM rubber grommet with a liberal amount of clear silicone and set aside to cure. Once all the parts have cured and dried, fit the cap screw and 3/4" outer washer (painted) into the rubber grommet, tightening the nylock nut just enough to keep from distorting the grommet. Re-install the rubber grommet in the rear glass, then re-install the plastic trim panel on the rear hatch. Sorry 'bout the picture quality. I guess the iphone wasn't all that great here... Anyway, hope this helps some of you wanting to take on this simple mod. Contact me any time if you need any help. Well, except for next week..... We'll be in Hawaii..... :beer
noticed a dent in the hood on the pink one... almost cried.... time to get some new bumpers for the front and back then a respray and blend
Had the idler pulley replaced -the bearing came apart when the pulley was removed - so 156,322 miles and almost 10+ plus years - not too shabby!
