Put some new stuff on the wife's "new" baby and found I need one more socket to complete the job. Thus, what started out being a fun day adding a lot of stuff to her MINI has hit a roadblock for now. :mad2: Oh well, as a Silverback, there is always tomorrow....
Installed the grocery bag holder on the rear seatback so the T-Shirt bags of Earl Grey, crumpets and duct tape we seem to always be needing won't spill.
Drove my wife to the local shopping mall'ish place so she can get her new Spring wardrobe. Perhaps it will lighten her mood while I try to convince her I REALLY need a new Mustang GT with the track pack...
:cornut: Make sure to remind her that it must be a 'Laguna Seca' or it will clash with her wardrobe. Jason
The Pacific Northwest (westcoast Seattle, Portland, Vancouver BC) has had a relatively mild winter. It was sunny the last few days and spring conditions.
Washed the wifes 09 MCS......thinking of selling it.....super clean, 34k miles......anyone interested?
^^^ I did exactly the very same thing today..... Felt good caressing the MINI body panels during the wash... The smell of the "Black Magic" was hinting Spring was finally here.... It was a pretty spectacular weekend in Columbus....
Found my missing socket!!! Woohoooo, and finished the job...for now. To celebrate, we went for a drive to see how the newly-installed strut tower defenders were thwarting the mushrooming efforts of those BBS R90s. So far, so good....
We waxed Bertie. And I must say, in addition to "miles of smiles" driving it, it's a pleasure to wash and wax this little guy. Other than a Fiat 850 Spider, I can't think of an easier car to wash and wax.
Got in a second day of rain driving with my new Conti DW tires. Very pleased so far. The impact harshness of the runflats is gone, of course, and the new tires been very trustworthy in any spirited moves I've tried to make in the wet. I'll be eager to try a few favorite motoring roads once it dries out around here. I'm running the stock sized 205/45-17s on my MCS. Purchased my $20 Slime + pump kit, along with gummy worms and their tool. That, plus AAA, should cover most things. Very used to traveling sans-spare from all the motorcycling journeys .
I didn't do anything with the MINI today, but I got it out and drove it to work on Saturday. I took a colleague on a spirited demonstration ride, and probably won over a new fan. On Sunday, I drove it to my buddy's house so we could exercise our 2nd Amendment rights, then we made a run to the parts store for a new battery for his Harley. I even took a few pics of the MINI next to his new toy. He's got a neat car and I love driving it, but I can't say that I'd trade... I also ordered a set of boot lid gas struts from O'Reilly's. They carry the same brand as the OEM. Hopefully, they'll arrive tomorrow and I'll put them on when I get home from work.
Ordered more parts. Realizing the valance spoiler part on the bottom of the bumper I ordered was for base model. I thought the bodies were the same. Learning still learning.
