I got turned away from registering for a British car show n shine coming up in May. The organizer says (and I quote) "everybody knows those are BMWs, we limit the number we let in and only let a few in because we don't want to offend anybody".
I can just hear it now.... That humongous jacked up Chrysler 4x4 Hemi at the truck pull.... Everyone knows that's just a Fiat.....
That is just sad. :frown2: I suggest going for a nice twisty road drive. It's more fun driving that parking.
Wow, that crud is catching, last summer I wanted the club to have a booth and a bunch of MINIs at a big show on the grass down in South Denver. They turned us away with a similar crappy spiel. So I entered the Ferrari (I wish), screw em. Now, today I finally dumped the catch can I had DOS install at last years MITM then we fogged the parking lot with his mosquito fogger to clean some of the crud out. This is what I dumped today, August 2012 to March 2013, good to not have that mucking up the intake valves. Don Hope folks can see, as it is posted up on FB, they change permissions on stuff on the hour.
:cornut: Yup, looks exactly like the Dinosaur Snot that comes out of my OCC. I'm glad that it's not coating my intake valves any more. Comparing the size of that jar with the surrounding objects, thats about 2 months worth for Margi(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm). I also have the dual tap boost valve(both BSH from DOS) so she makes a lot of Dinosaur Snot. Jason
That's weather control experiment #49568 It was sunny here and all I had to do was bring out the bucket, wash mitt, and a bottle of car wash soap and it clouded over and started raining here.
Added my PCV blocking cap to the firewall side PCV port and added a second to the port on the intake manifold... And added lightness (removed the interconnecting PCV hose).... Man.... what a bear it was to get the PCV hose off the intake manifold side.... I had to remove the OEM air cleaner, disconnect the cold air tube going to the air cleaner, remove the hard pipe going to the turbo, and disconnect the noise maker.... Got it put back together with no extra mysterious fasteners left over.... One interesting observation I was happy to find.... The PCV hose leading to the cold side on the turbo has absolutely no sign of oil film inside the tube coming from the OCC.... It must be very efficient....
They sure didn't make that MINI easy to work on did they Chuck? Left my clean MINI in the garage today & proceeded to add a liberal coating of road grim on Babs Skooby the clubster. :smile5: I'll be washing it soon.
Went thru downtown Columbia, SC in the St Patricks Day parade. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/midlands-mini-motoring/16349-annual-st-patricks-day-parade.html#post185615
Went down to the shop at 7:00am this morning... Started up the diesel shop truck... backed it out onto the street and moved the MINI inside.... Well.... Apparently I woke up one of the nearby residents.... Some of my bud's showed up at 7:30am... We all (including the nearby freshly woken resident) went over to get a Tommy's breakfast....:drool Returned after a delightful breakfast and did a 5,000 mile oil change and filter replacement... Filled up with German Castrol, that's distilled by German elves deep in the black forest........
:wink: I remember being told by the 'old sage' MetalMan: If there are no pictures then it never happened. Remember that?:lol::lol: Jason
