Rain/snow (yes, I awoke to a white yard this morning!) finally stopped here in Chicago-land so I washed her for the first time! -John
Today I took a spirited high-speed run to my 45 min away speed shop to pick up 5 gal jug of VP M 1 Meth for the Dragon. 100 octane Race fuel and Meth = FUN on the Dragon :lol:
Modded and installed JCW Alcantara steering wheel Cleaned and installed summer wheels Worked on exhaust rattles Installed new timing chain tensioner & plug w/washers Ordered some more stuff to install next weekend
Walked right past both of them, and did a 65 mile ride on my bike, felt ok about it tho, we did a Mini run last saturday with 15 other cars......
Looked at my two big meth jugs and realized I need to make a meth run before the Dragon.... And I've driven right by the place three times in the past two weeks.... And it's 45 min away, too. Oy.
Installed the rear Swift springs and new rubber n wheels last night, got to do the front today then wheel alignment new week.
Renewed the brakes...Red stuff pads, new rotors OEM style from Way, stainless steel lines also from Way, new sensors. Warning light is now off, car stops, no squeals. Success!
Replaced the rear brake lines with SS.... The fronts that were sold to me appear to be R53 fronts instead of what's needed for the JCW BBK.... Oh well, will be making a phone call tomorrow... Went ahead and flushed the old with new brake fluid... While I was at the shop today, I went ahead and made the turbo cold side muffler delete. For those interested you need an 8" x 2" OD length of tubing and the existing OEM hoses will work fine... The muffler itself is a rather large piece that consists of a 2" flow tube with perforations that open up into a much larger cavity.... Naturally this cavity needs to reach boost pressure when fed by the turbo. Elimination of this extra cubic inches of space should allow boost to build quicker (the premis.....no extra space, no boost PSI needed to fill that space).
^^^ That's cuz I started out the day with a couple of buds having breakfast at Tommy's... It's amazing what Waffels and Chickin will do for you...
We had our PDXMINI Club Tech Day. I installed the H Sport 25.5mm hollow rear sway bar and a NM Engineering torque arm insert. Also did a brake fluid flush with some ATE Super Blue. Very excited!
Got my new shifter bushings in. Doesn't work as well as I wanted. I could get the precision I need with the tools I have. I also got the air divider on. It went great. I'll make it look nicer after the Dragon.
