Got the alignment today, filled up with 93 ethanol free and tested out the swift springs! They are great!
Drove back from Grand Junction Colorado to Louisville Colorado in Rocketdog, started clean and parked her dirty. Odd weather we are having here in CO, another April snow storm on this side, 50s on the west side. Made a good run too, 4 hrs and 15 minutes door to door going over Vail Pass with a good bit of snow pack going east, one pit stop, no gas stops. Google maps say 4 hrs and 22 minutes with current traffic in the dry.
Finally Found a glove box on ebay with a working latch to replace my old one. I got it delivered yesterday and I am now happily driving with a working glovebox after almost a week with an empty void where the old one used to be. I thought about using velcro, kitchen drawer latches, magnets, but none of that is good enough for my MINI.
Paid for my m7 strut tower brace. Got a gift card from work for being a good driver so I'm going to reward myself by getting a new supercharger pulley for it
Drove last leg of 2 day 500+ mile business trip, installed CF trim on my JCW steering wheel when I got home.
Today I am going to get a fresh alignment for the Dragon and going over nut and bolt check. Then I think I will wash it and put it in the garage for tomorrow's detailing day.
Forget the washing Dave there's so much pollen down here it won't matter! I washed mine 4 times this week already and it's in the garage, lol!
Took Margi(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm) to the body shop to get an estimate on passenger side bonnet, quarter panel, and door repair. $2,300. I've got insurance. The other morning a tractor trailer swerved over to my lane without looking and what with a retaining wall on the other side and a tailgaiter behind me , I had no where where to go and had to 'take it in the shorts' or more precisely down the right side. No one was hurt and Margi still drives like a champ. Sorry about no photos but I'm computer stupid. Life goes on. Jason
Had new ATI Super Damper and belt installed to prevent future failure. 2006 R52 with 15% pulley and other usual mods. Way says this pulley is 0.8% larger than stock and gives 0.5 additional boost, plus improves smoothness at all RPM. I believe he is correct, the car does seem smoother with a little more overall power. Bought new Craven dipstick as the OEM was cracked in 4 places - didn't want to risk losing it down the tube. Also RMW dyno-tuned a couple months ago at Thunderhill Raceway Park. Going on PDXMINI road ralley in the morning.
What a great day it was for a drive.... Got the R53 out for some lunch and a visit to the Sports Medicine Doc. Just a cortisone injection to ward off the pesky bone spur-a/c joint and tendon issue in the right shoulder. Closed out the day with libation courtesy of my (seldom seen) old buddy Jack!
Moved the MINI out of the garage... So I could get the tractor out.... Rigged up my broadcast spreader and put down fertilizer and weed killer.... Next up... got some bare spots that will get some grass seed... Followed by a nice woarsh and Prima application for the MINI.... It's a beautiful day here in Columbus....
Big pre-dragon detail, on lunch break now. So far today: Wash Mask and respray black trim on JCW front bumper Wetsand oxidation layer off black door handle covers Clay Make templates and cut vinyl for foglight surrounds in JCW bumper Remove intact butterfly carcass from GP intercooler Up next: Start polishing...
Got mine back in the garage, but needs worshing again, then polish. Gotta wait for the rain to stop first!
