Nice MINI (R53) right on the trailer. :)

I would avoid that tow bill too. What limp modes are you getting, misfires?

Oh, it is raining again, so nothing for Scooter or Rocketdog today, just more of natures wash action. :(

Yes an inconsistant misfire and Ultimately limp mode. I think we're gonna focus on the harmonic balancer. I'll drop you a note when we get it apart and confirm the issue.

On a empty stretch of interstate it seemed a good idea to do double the double nickel(if you remember that your an old fart like me). All was fine, I was grooving. Tell I smelled burning rubber. So I slowed down and enjoyed the smell of rubber for miles. Got home and checked the belt tensioner. Yep it moves a lot!
Well I know what I get to do after vacation. That and a clutch in older sons BMW.

Yea I know I should haven't done that on the interstate. :frown2:

JCW exhaust, my 13th exhaust (I was running prototypes for various manufacturers, including myself). Surprising how q-u-i-e-t it is now! Very pleasant.

Got spared a parking ticket and tow by a very nice parking enforcement officer and Metalman who warned me so I could move the MINI before it was ticketed and towed for today's street cleaning.

    Whooo dodged that bullet.

Dropped it at MAG for some investigation and diagnosis. I keep getting a pesky little MIL, the half black half yellow engine light. :nonod:

This is the third week in a row that it has appeared and now it returns as soon as I clear it. Had them clear the codes last night and it popped back as soon as I got on the freeway and hit the gas.

When you hit the gas there is a slight hesitation. Code is 2885, Charge-air pressure control deviation.

Could be vacuum line, waste gate, or something worse. Time will tell.

Had rear O2 sensor replaced in my wife's R53

MINIUSA had a bulletin sent out to the dealerships:
Warrantied for 10 years or 100,000 miles

I managed to get my replacement even though I was a tad over...

Got to love Mini for its quality, service, and "member of the family" business practices!!

local dealer: Mini of Allentown (PA)
