Good to have investments to cash in, hope the job comes along soon. I dusted Scooter today in hopes of the rain going away, guess I will drive on Thursday when it is dryer, we have been having these odd little showers of late. Don
Mounted my tablet in the car so I could use it for the Torque app to get OBD data in real time. Plus I can use it as a large screen GPS with the Co-Pilot app. Plus I got a little bored and decided to mount my spare front bumper on the wall. I mean everyone has a spare don't they?
Dusted off the Classic, fully intending to run some errands, but got sidetracked doing the tear down in the beginning phase of my Bonanza BC 1300 restoration project. There's always tomorrow...
Not today, but last weekend: - Autocrossed with Mini buds - 2 hour drive with JS Performance Motoring's guru - Picked up handsome R53 that daughter bought and drive it home - Began modifications on said R53! We're now a (2) R53 family!
Well my hose was delivered yesterday only problem it wasn't delivered to my house! Got the faithful USPS trying to find it but meanwhile I've sourced another that will be in at 2 today....
Filled up the tank and got the best daily driver mileage I have ever seen out of Merlin. 32.8MPG! Over 400 miles on one tank. That is nearly as good as a straight highway run. Such a sweet little car.
Drove to work and used up lots of Meth taking the long way. Funny thing is I got to work earlier by going the long way.:ihih:
Got Scooter out today, a good 110 mile drive, just to the dealer, camera store and to pick up some hats we are thinking on making for our summer event. Filled up on the way home, best ever for Scooter almost 33 mpg. Must be all the mountain driving. If your in Denver this weekend, C&C and Denver People's Fair downtown, small autox course on Broadway with demo MINIs available to drive. Sunday, big Italian Auto Show Automezzi with British cars as the invited guests, we will have 7 or 8 MINIs grouped for fun. Don
So the hose story continues.... The hose I thought I sourced locally didn't show up either! The original hose did show up last night so today's job was to install the new hose, replace the crankshaft sensor o-ring which was leaking..... I ordered the part and it was shipped from Atlanta on the 28th, once again the post office at its finest....it went to TN one day, Greensboro the next and just arrived at the Hickory unit at 7am this morning!!!! Which of course means it won't be delivered today... Now if I look at a map I see Atlanta, to the left TN, to the right from TN past Hickory, Greensboro, Hickory sort of straight above Atlanta and they wonder why the Post Office is losing money???? Just venting cause I wanna drive my MINI!
Who would of thought replacing an air filter would be an 8 hrs project. . . . Thank you Helix for the 10 min phone call which solved the project. . . . Ever have one of those V-8 moments. . . Duh. !!!!
I installed my ScanGauge II in a place where I can see it quickly and easily... using 3M professional fake-velcro.
GP-2 Front Under tray install... It's always a great day when I can get together with my MINI buds... Started out at Tommy's for breakfast and then back to the shop... We need to make this a regular happening... Ahhhh Mark... Dark Helmet is one dangerously fast MINI... Definitely has mucho torque... Musta got some extra beans while at the Dragon (Telltale indicator was wafting through the shop today .....:crazy Jeff... Hope you sort out your MINI demons... Exorcism next??? Jason... You should have brought your MINI, but there is always next time... Sonic maybe?? And this is Justa for Justa Jim.... Took me 20 minutes to install the GP-2 front underpanel... The kit came with all oem MINI fasteners... Oh... And thanks Chuck... Your magnet retriever tool came in handy for snatching the one fastener that decided to make a run for it... Saved me from making a trip to the dealer... And especially thanks for donating this extra special tool to my collection... This small splash shield gets removed as part to the change over... The completed installation.... It's nice how the under panel is fastened to all existing frame mounting holes.... I find it interesting that my MINI is a 2009 and all of the fastener holes were in place to accept a 2013 part...
