Sorry if this sounds like advertising but it's not. It was a lot of fun watching this thing and I had to be careful to pay attention to my driving.

There is an app that went free a few weeks ago in the iTunes app store that I downloaded but never played with it until today. It's pretty easy to use. Mount your iPod Touch or iPhone somewhere secure on the dash or in your field of vision. Start your car. While it is in neutral or park and not moving, start up the app and touch the start icon to calibrate. It takes 3 seconds. When the gauges show up, you can tap on them the change to a different gauge. It uses the accelerometer to measure g-forces graph out how your car is handling. If you have an iPhone, it uses the GPS to measure speed also and displays other calculations.

Highly recommended especially for those of you who autocross or track your car. It can show how smoothly you are taking those corners and where your traction limits are.

There are probably other devices up there, but the price for this one is right. I got it for free and it might still be free, but the price was $2.99 before that. It won't break the bank. ... edit...I just noticed it's $.99 now.

Might have to go spend .99 for Zilla, got a track day coming up Sunday, will run the Iphone app Rev and this to see what they capture. :)

    Nice video.

Took Scooter down to PEAK Eurosport and Elevation Auto SPA to drop off MITM posters, come see them in Avon in August. :) :)

Finished detailing GP #1650 for a ten day motoring adventure with some friends in a Clubman Hampton across South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. Hoping to find that British Auto Tour next week in Yellowstone or Grand Tetons.

Added a MINI armrest in the GP.

Drove to work today and watched my MPG tick up to 34.1. Then I kicked on sport mode and floored it to watch it go back down. So far the best part of my day. Waiting for the ride home.

Tried out zilla, needs a few more revisions to be useful, needs data logging as it is a pretty busy display on the iPhone 4s, might be better on a 5 or the iPad Mini.

Found a couple bugs, I can't read Russian, it defaults to that on one of the settings option for HUD display, bummer, it comes up in KM so you have to reset for miles per hour, but it stays set.

Will play with it some but not on the track, I could see myself out in the weeds. :) :) :)

Did some top-down driving around town and then spent the afternoon giving PittMini a bath and wax. A lovely day all around!

I just woarsched mine! Didn't really give her the attention needed but it'll do for tomorrow. :cornut: Anyhow, washing your car in the morning before doughnuts? You'd have to wake up at 6am... who would want to do that?

Drove it to breakfast then over to 05r50's house to meet up with some MoM buds and lend a hand in the wastegatectomy...MINI isn't making them any easier to work on....we made some very good progress though.
