Went to go get clunk in rear fixed. Bushings I had on hand were all wrong. Ordered the correct ones and will have to wait to be clunkless....

    Very worn bushing.

I'd say you got your moneys worth out of those bushings. Where is you order the latest bushings from?

Installed a Homelink unit on the sunroof trim as described here(more or less):

    install guide

The results are pretty good. I paid a little more specifically for a black unit so that it would look close to factory:

I opted to splice into the map lights for a constant 12V source(it was the purple wire). I crimped a ring terminal onto the ground wire and used an existing screw that was above the driver's side visor.

Took the Classic for a spin around 6:30 this morning for a photo shoot. Supposed to be record setting 114 degree heat today..... Not exactly a doable excursion in temps much past 80.

I took mine to see Superman with the old man. Pretty good flick and the old man liked riding in the new mini. And be was telling me about the work be is getting ready to start on his 71 Opel GT, that's gonna be a blast to drive. I'll have to get some pics of the process.

Had a good double MINI day!

Got up early for the annual MINI5280 officers and board meeting, good breakfast meeting, food was good, meeting met requirements for the legal folks and IRS. :)

Then I took Scooter over to Ferney's for the open house BBQ. Good turnout, great food, beer was found, then the rain came.

A very nice way to spend the day.

    One for the road!

^^ that is BRILLIANT! Antique shopping in a Mini, despite a relatively large luggage capacity compared to the size of the car, naturally cuts down on the "stuff" that gets brought home.

Did a rally yesterday that benefitted the local SPCA. The rain held out just long enough to finish the rally.

After my 5th trip to Home Depot this week, this time for finishing touches to my guest bathroom redux, I was approached by a grinning shopper in a 10 year old Mustang two spaces over who was totally gaga over my Coupe. Taller than me by a couple inches ( but not packing as much extra poundage as me) he asked he could sit in to check his fit.

Needless to say, he loved it and was blown away, this being the first Coupe he ever saw on the road. We chatted for nearly 10 minutes. First time I had someone that enthusiastic...most people thumbs up it or just stare.

I think he would be a worthy member of our Select Society.

Cleaned the mud from Mud-Ohio & then the horse pucky from my secret detour off my MINI. Squeaky clean once again. :D

I gave it the afternoon off & went for a fun back road drive in my little roadster.

    Ouch!

With MY mini: Drove to the PittStopMINI officer's meeting, final-planned the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix adventure with the Mini Club (VERY worthwhile event, imagine a 25,000 car "car show" and vintage sports cars racing in the stone-walled streets of a city park at speed... with catered lunch and MINI Track Rides... but I digress). Best part was "caravanning" home with my daughter running tailgun in her "new" R53...
