Yesterday I drove to an interview and then to work in the rain... tested the new orange peel yokohama's and they are amazing in the wet. Much better than conti DW which are basically race slicks once the W wears off.
Notthing very exciting, justa put an air filter in Skooby's little engine. Now it can breath nice clean air.
Drove him to my friends, set up some chairs, rang cow bells and cheered on all of the Pelotonia riders who rode by! So much fun
Installed the Craven Speed Tablet Mount and hooked the ODBII Port Wireless dongle to the iPad Mini to run Dash Commander. Couple of really crappy iPhone pics taken while driving.
ScanGauge Mount Went down to the shop this morning to get my ScanGauge mount installed... Really didn't like the "Tape" mounting that came with the kit.... drove with it stuck to my dash for about 8 months just to get used to the best location that gave me a quick check without looking away from what was in front of me when driving... Picked a spot on the "A" pillar, pulled the plastic cover off and was able to install a threaded nutsert in the window frame member... I'll get a grommet to fit the hole where the electrical lead is.... Cut a short length of SS tubing to act as a standoff for the mount... Bent up some stainless and attached a bracket.. Job Done...
Hah.... The scary part was drilling the two holes in the plastic window trim directly over the threaded insert...:eek6:
Installed a BSH Oil Catch Can and DOS Cold Air Intake on my 2012 MCS. Sounds great inside and outside the car.
I took my significant other for a ride in the Mini....for the first time since putting the DOS Cold Air Intake on the car. The first words out of her mouth about the car, "It sounds like its on life support!"
That's funny....when I added the NM CAI my wife asked me what was wrong with my car. I told her that since I put FAT tires on it that it was having a difficult time breathing
This past few days, worked at the MITM event and did some fun stuff in the mountains with Scooter and Rocketdog. RD got a new DoS Carbon Fiber CAI for the Countryman (Street Version), looks so right. Luke put a similar unit on his Coupe, pictures are posted public on my FB page, search for me. Got both Scooter and RD detailed and washed multiple times by our new detailing vendor at MITM, I had only enough personal time to lead the Countryman ride in the dirt. That was fun. Pictures posted here: Countryman Dirt Run. This run was 22 miles of dirt and 98 miles long, we ran it pretty fast. Had a good lunch at the Yacht Club. Let me know if you cannot access the FB album, I will reset permissions. Don
