Another Euro Sunday here in Fresno! Not a bad showing even with a huge contingent over at the Monterey Historics this weekend.
Changed oil and filter, bottled a sample. Otherwise enjoyed laying underneath her and staring at her underpinnings, finding no discrepancies.
Toured the South, West and North of Denver in Scooter. Delivered a set of Klipsch speakers that I gave away, traded lunch at a nice neighborhood Sicilian Deli in Denver, 20th and Wadsworth. Wow! No pics. Stopped by QLP (our supplier of swag to MINI5280) to pick up the new metal grill badges, came out super. Continued my tour to drop of MITM Sponsor award trophies, then motored briskly back home. All in all about 130 miles of MINI driving bliss! Our new GB by the Tar Heels GB. Both are pretty well done!
Noticed I crossed the 250 posts milestone on Motoring Alliance so went out for a drive to no place in particular to celebrate
I drove to work. Thats it so far. No lunch at all, just a bottle of water. In a little while I'll drive home and probably mow the grass while my mini smugly watches like it always does. Too bad I cant make it mow, it would go sooo much faster.
Spent the day driving the California coast, and then came home and gave her a bath. Getting ready for the Mini show tomorrow.... Mini of Pleasanton, CA
Getting geared up for a run to Indian Lake later today - meeting up with my dad and brother. My grandfather had a big lake-front house in Russell's Point back in the 50s within walking distance of an amusement park. So many wonderful childhood memories of that place - dozens of gleaming mahogany Chris-Crafts along the pier, a little kiosk on the corner with giant brightly colored lollypops, his shiny red '56 Pontiac Safari wagon fitted out for camping, the smell of sawdust in his wood shop, coloring books and crayons on a braided wool rug and a huge bookcase with a complete collection of National Geographic, Zane Gray and Louis Lamour. It's all long gone now, but the memories remain. Looks like a fine day for a top-down cruise through the hill farm country.
