Tried a second Sprint Booster on Dr. Phibes. I had installed one back earlier in the year and it did not work at all and check engine light came on. I sent that back and had given up as I figured that the 2013's had something different in the ecu that prevented it from working. This month, I contacted Sprintbooster.com and asked if they had any problems with 2013's which they said no. So I ordered another, this one works but still throws the check engine light. This time I contacted the manufacturer, which by the way is NOT minimania! They confirmed that for some reason all 2013 MINI's have this problem and their engineers are working on it and to return to dealer. The manufacturers website is sprintboosterusa.com not Sprintbooster.com I emailed for an rma number and stated what manufacturer told me and they said oh yes their having trouble with 2013's. Well that's what I asked before I ordered! And that's what I did today..... Removed the SB and sent back.
Isn't it harder to tune the 2013 engines as well? I wonder if these issues are related. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for Dr. Phibes.
well yesterday I spent four hours, 2 hours each trip, in the back of my FIL's Paceman to go see my son play football. Besides my head touch the ceiling inside and the narrow floor in the back I was in pain, very uncomfortable rid. My sons team won, so it was worth the trip but I won't be doing that again.
Today I took the Mini out early and meet up with 2 other friends with R53's at a local Cars and Coffee.
Washed the hell out of Scooter yesterday, today a short drive to the PO and back, after it cools off a bit, perhaps a run up into the Mountains. Always nice to get into a clean MINI! Don
I finished up the trailer wiring and buttoned her all back together. I can't believe I didn't break anything. I need to order a license plate hinge holder thing now, I think.
Took Skooby on a back road drive up into Amish country. Had a fine meal with Mrs Honey & drove the twisty roads home. A good day.
Left the Mini in the garage and drove a family members '84 Alfa Spider Veloce north of Columbus Zoo. Great, awesome mechanical sounds and a beauty but... its poor handling (by comparison) makes me appreciate how great it is to drive a modern Mini!
I did nothing with my MINI today. It's still a figment of my imagination 'scheduled for production' in Oxford. :drool
I wrote a big check to the dealer to get my first mini. Dealer got my money and I got a stack of paper...can't pick up until Wednesday. Found this site and found my new best friends.
