I used to get at least a ticket a year, until I got a radar detector. We don't have a points system here, so my insurance rates have never gone up. But my last ticket was a laser ticket, time to get some laser countermeasures! Dave
Drove over to Sonic to visit with some friends & make a few more. Lots of fun, got to drool on a new Focus ST. Even got to reminiscing about the old junior HS days.
Lasers are hard to avoid but with some smart driving and my V1 picking them up they can be avoided. If I am driving "fast" on a long highway like 81 S going to the Dragon I hang back in a pack of other cars that are driving just as "fast". I call those cars Radar/laser deflectors as they get zapped or hit with instant on radar I see the alert by being back a 500 yards to 1/4 mile and have time to slow down. With the V1 laser shows up as 3 - bars and go "Blap Blap Blap" full strength then disappears again really fast just like instant on radar guns. The only difference is the alert sound which for instant on radar is "Beep beep beep". Regular radar just builds in strength as you get closer and the alerts go from slow beeps to rapid beeps to a solid tone when you are right on top of the bogey.
Drove past 5 oncoming MINIs today (two HTs, a Paceman and a Countryman). I waved. None waved back. Let 'em buy Sonics!
Drove Montag to the cardiologist and then on to the chiropractor. All is well and adjusted to be sure. Nothing but the Best in MINI service for me.... :beer
It's OEM...spoke with the mechanic today. He says it's ok for normal use, but NOT for the track. Sooo, it's headed back to the mechanic next week, as he's pretty much booked up til then. No problem...I'll just drive one of the other MINIs in the meantime.:cornut:
I'm going for a 500 mile drive in predicted rain showers tomorrow... so I washed, waxed, black treated the arches, and cleaned the wheels.
