I replaced the sensor (even if I had replaced the pads and rotors before waiting for the sensor to wear down, there is NO WAY I could have removed the old one without destroying it), and I'm going to double-check the connection today.
Fixed the loose nut that was allowing the right side mirror to flop over at speed. Thanks for the help to the person that happened to have a 19mm open ended wrench handy.
Today I helped a person, that happened to require a 19mm wrench, that was needed to tighten a wayward nut, on their MINI... Even if it was an R53.....
Today I took a nice ride to Jersey with my wife and like always you have to pay to leave Jersey. It was a good drive.
Drove out to Newport Oregon and back to the valley. We are having super weather right now. Lots of curves and beautiful scenery to enjoy in the coastal mountain range.
I look at the revolutions per mile, which for my R52 makes the speedometer fairly accurate at 830 revs per mile. My current tires are 215 x18 on 8 inch wide rims. They don't rub except on hard bounce in the rear. The outside of the tire hits the inner edge of the plastic fender flare. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Primacy+Alpin+PA3&sidewall=Blackwall&partnum=055HR6PRPA3V2&tab=Specs This tire rack shows a Michelin 205x55 R16 snow tire with 835 revs per mile. I would think that would be close to stock. A 225/50x16 will fit a 7 inch rim and would be 835 revs per mile. Its a wide tire though. but probably won't rub if it is centered. Maybe go with a 215 55x16 - it has a 826 Rev per mile, and a little wider section width, but close to the same tread width - about 7.5 inches. But it is a bit taller and could rub a tiny bit. So to be safe, maybe stick with a 205.
It's nice and sunny after some rain. So, Herself washed and "Hoovered" it. Going gambling tonight, so we might as well arrive in a clean Bertie.
Wash and vac later today. I have to top off the Meth tank and take a FUN run to fill up with some Sunoco 93.
Wooohoooo...THREE other MINIs joined my car and me at Mid Ohio this weekend! I could tell my S was THRILLED, even though the rain and 43 degree temps on Saturday made for some slooow driving. Today was sunny, warmer and a lot faster.
