Change the SC oil, new ATI crank pulley, new belt tensioner, Idler pulley and belt. I'm only taking breaks to put a new water pump on my daughters car yesterday. Then to fix her alternator this morning. I should finnish tomorrow if no other car breaks. 4 kids 6 cars I need to go to work to have a break. At this rate I'll never finish restoring my Indian. And I call this a hobby.:frown2:
After a two-week hiatus in Florida, I took John Bull for a nice quick drive. God, what an awesome car!
Got the Mini back together. Then my younger son and I took our cars to Shelby Forist and made some gopro videos driving the twestys.
Took some friends and my parents for their first drive in Basil, and filled the tank for the first time. 250 miles in 3 days, gotta get through this break in period!
A fellow MINI motorer who goes by the name Dieselhead recently came out of the hospital. I went to visit him and I brought over a bunch of my old MC2, GoMINI, Modern MINI and MINI International magazines for him to read and keep him busy. Then I took him for a ride in my car to a local Denny's for breakfast. Dieselhead has never ridden my car nor has he been in a Cooper S with a revised swaybar and 15% reduced pulley before. After breakfast we sought out an empty stretch of road and he experienced first hand what my car was capable of. His response was "Holy Sh..., Basil can't do that!" Basil is the name of his MINI. After coming to a stop at a stop sign, my MINI developed a misfire and the check engine light came on and went into Limp mode. I pulled into a parking spot in front of Dieselhead's home, turned off the engine and restarted it and the car ran fine. Reset the P0304 code on my scanguage and all is fine. It must be close to needing new plugs and sparkplug wires or something. :nonod:
Yesterday I did a road side service call for a friend that had a sidewall blowout in his front drivers side tire while doing a dry run of an upcoming rally. 4 cars and no one had a spare to spare. I took him one of my R90's with a winter tire mounted on it, floor jack and impact gun and did a swap that would make a NASCAR pit crew proud. He was way out in the woods on a nice twisty road but I could not enjoy it at speed because off the 2 1/2 ton floor jack and tire bouncing and sliding around in my car.
Went to an open house run by the butcher I use at his farm. Saw cows, lambs, goats and pigs that will grace mine and many other tables in the area. Was really nice weather, the MINI ran well. Twas a nice day for drive in country with a friend. A Belgian Blue Bull
Babs & I took the Blu one to our favorite ice cream place in Utica. We saw Carol & Holly there too. Small world eh? No bull, but good ice cream.
Blacked out the belt line. Not sure how I feel about it. I know there are chrome haters around but sometimes it does have its place.
