Went down to the shop today and said Hi to my buddy.... My daughter is in from college for the holiday... Did the dad thing... Woarched her vehicle, filled the tank with fuel (must be a leak, it's alway's near empty) Changed the earl and earl filter... Filled up the woarcher fluid tank with woarscher fluid.... Rubbed out a door scratch with Prima "Swirl".... All is well now....
Pretty amazing how MINI contoured that woasher container.... They eked out every possible unused space behind the bumper for fluid storage.... What's even moar amazing.... The stream of woasher fluid shoots straight....
Took the loaner Paceman ALL4 out for some lunch activities today, 2nd Paceman loaner I have had the opportunity to drive for an extended time. Yesterday was the interstates going home 50+ miles, today was Boulder cities traffic and some out nicer back road sweepers outside the city. Nice! I am coming to believe the Paceman S or ALL4 S is an overlooked MINI option by folks who are looking at new MINI options. (Disclaimer): I do not work for MINIUSA.
Yesterday I traded my Coupe S for this: 2014 CM All4, "Wexford", Brilliant Copper, Manual, ColdWeather, Sport, and Tech Packages (The Mansion is NOT mine...just a backdrop for some photos...lol) packimocity
Dodged a whole bunch of people just driving stupid today. I guess they are still brain dead from to much Christmas and are out in numbers today. It's like they are driving in slow motion!
-Oil Change (Castrol Edge) -Replaced heat exchanger O-Rings.(proper torx on socket & extreme patience needed) -Finally installed my long stored Canton Expansion Tank. Great upgrade.
Changed oil Removed rotors, had them all turned, reinstalled Installed new rear cabrio beltline trim (the two crazy expensive pieces) Installed new right side windshield beltline trim (so it matches the left side new one I installed a while back) Blacked out new beltline trim Stared at my ball joints and decided not to do them today Wiped the oil ooze from my newest slow leak off the bottom of the engine Said to self "I should really go looking for that oil leak" but didn't
Drove by the major shopping area, laughed at the 1/2 mile queue to get to the exit to get off the freeway to get to the major shopping area. Went for a fun drive after that.
Installed cabrio braces. Went for a drive to test said braces. Said braces don't do anything except clean up a bit of confusion in the engine compartment and look as though they do something. Got home and tried to find out what the knocking is in the back. Found it! Too lazy to run and get zip ties to hold the piece that is making noise up. Changed out front parking light bulb. Warshed her. Prima swirled her…. again Prima hydrod her…. again Went inside for some pretzels and mustard…. I may just have a beer or glass of whiskey.
Had to go into work today for a while so I took the MINI. Ah, gotta love a nice drive on a cold day in a forced induction car
Took the Paceman loaner up to Estes Park via NED, Peak to Peak, RMNP, Down Hwy 36 (still a mess) then back home. A good mountain MINI. It did fine at 9000 feet along Peak to Peak. Put in garage, drinking tea, thinking about a NAP. Don
What a day! Not a great one, either. Took the Cooper for a spin..DSC light went on and won't go off, and then the tire light went on...checked all the pressures and it still won't go off so I came back home. Got into the wife's S and there is some terrible clanking in the back but nothing is hanging down...no idea what's going on there, so again I came back home and got my S and it would appear that the shocks are about done, rattling and so forth. All I can say is GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....:mad2::mad5: Happy New Year? NOT!!!!
Got winter wheels and tires put on the Countryman. Just in time for another sub-zero blast of weather.
