Got it out of the garage after one week, the rain seemed to get all the salt off the roads. Put 25 miles on it just to have fun.
Well at work today we were pretty slow due to the weather. A buddy at work helped me out today, I ordered a clutch kit from Amazon, it was a luk kit. Long story short Amazon sent the wrong kit. And they paid the difference to Midwestern auto group here in Columbus for a factory clutch kit. So no complaints about Amazon. Once I got the correct kit Lonnie finished it up. I missed my baby. .... clutch feels ohhhh so good.
I took my MINI out of the garage today and let it warm up for a a 1/2 hour and went out for a nice cruse.
Spotted a puddle of oily somethingness after moving it after work today. Hopefully it's just a gasket... or the cheaper power steering hose. But I need to get under it in the daylight (which is going to be hard to do) to see WTF is going on.
Dude just let me know when you want to stop by one night and we can pull it in the garage and jack it up and look. I even have some crap carpet we can put on the floor instead laying on the cold as F concrete. Just not tomorrow night, I have to take down our tree with Kim.
I drove to and from work in ice and snow 30 miles each way with a million stupid drivers. I also retired to figure our why my rear fog light does not work. I just got a 2008 S Clubman. It has the switch and the bulb and it tools me the bulb is out. The dealer put a bulb in for me, but still no rear fog light. uzzled
Yes indeed...! It's a Bonanza 1300 from around 1970 and I'm try'n to restore it to be as period correct as I can (afford). Man what an investment it's become.
Joyride on Saturday, Then washed and garaged. Last evening machine-waxed with P21S 100% paste wax. Now Looks like it's wet! But, still going to apply a couple more coats over the next few days to build up depth and gloss.
What did I do WITH or TO my mini? WITH: Drove to work through streets that hasn't been plowed yet. TO: Mounted Winter Tires. Winter in the Midwest this year has been crazy so far.
Added much needed air to our 2 daily driven MCSes while the Cooper sleeps in its warm garage stall til better weather. Looks like both R53s will get the salt washed off this weekend, too, as temps are in the 40s and the snow is melting away.
Got off work early today hoping to go home and chill only to find that I had a flat rear tire. None of the gas stations in spelt er rd had working air pumps, so I stopped at tire discounters to see if they would air me up. We promptly find I have a hole in my damn side wall. So two new tires and $300 out of my pocket. What a wonderful Friday!
It was the closest place. I thought about going over there, but I didn't want to risk jacking my rim up.
Went out for a drive to meet a friend for lunch. Car is now quite salt encrusted. Thought we were supposed to have rain today, oh well. I'll probably venture over to the car wash this evening.
