I finally got around to changing the oil, the p/o had it serviced last at a jiffy lube type place. King Kong must be in charge of installing drain plugs there. The plug is stuck in the pan to the extent that I was unable to budge it with a breaker bar. I had the pleasure of siphoning the oil out though the dip stick tube. After that I cleaned and greased two very corroded coil pack contacts. Finally, I took the dremel to the bottom half of the airbox. I don't expect any actual performance gains from that, I just wanted to hear a little more sound. My car is just too quiet. I think there will be a magnaflow hanging out under my rear bumper in the near future.
Put my car outside in the rain this weekend to test the beading of the new wax. (Excellent) Today I took my car out today to run an errand. When I got home I dusted it off and tested another wax. WOW :eek6: 9 year old paint never looked so deep and wet.
Garage door healed. Planning to take a brief drive when I get home. Sortta late, but maybe traffic won’t be too bad.
Dodo Juice, it's is crazy deep and wet looking. I ordered about 5-6 of the sample 30 ml sizes and I have done my car 2 + times and still have a lot left. The wax goes on thin and easy and spreads forever. **Note I did wash! clay! mad polish the hellout of my car so I had a really good base with no swirls so start with. Dodo Juice Carnauba Car Waxes, dodojuice wax, carnauba wax, dodo wax, dodo car care, rainforest rub, supernatural wax, purple haze wax Dodo Supernatural Shampoo. Dodo Lime prime to clean and prep entire car. Dodo Blue Velvet pro hard wax sealer / shine. (Whole car) Dodo Orange Crush on Chili Red. (Soft wax) Dodo Purple haze on black roof. (Soft wax) Dodo Supernatural over whole car. (Soft wax) Fresh up with Dodo Super Natural Acrylic Spritz I also have a few other Dodo Juice wax products to test but so far these guys make great products that last because you don't need to use 1/2 a bottle to get excellent results.
I tried a sample and it worked well. This product is one of the best. Currently I am on a can of P21S 100% Carnauba, a similar product. I am satisfied with the results - gives a nice wet look. Also noticed the surface appears deeper, darker and reflective with additional applications. I think that is the case with any carnauba.
I also have used and still have P21S and it does leave a nice finish. ^^^ FYI no wax is 100% Carnauba because pure 100% carnauba is hard as concrete and even at 70% you can not use or even spread it on anything. All carnauba has to be mixed with evaporating solvents and oils to make them usable on any finish. Waxes with high amounts of carnauba are called "hard waxs'" while lower amounts of carnauba are called "soft waxe's" as they don't last. The truth about 100% carnauba wax's. It's all marketing hype. Headed out last night to an English Tavern for fish and chips and some stout beers with MINI folks. The MINI got FILTHY, but it was worth it
Finally changed the front brake wear sensor, turned the key to position 2 and the annoying light is gone! Also mini got wax! I hate salt
I took my MINI out yesterday to stretch her legs and burn some fuel and Meth. Found out my power mirrors would not move. :frown2: For the last stop I topped of the tank with 93 and put her back in the garage for a very cold week coming up. Oh it took 5 min with a test light to find the blow 5 amp fuse to correct my power mirror problem.
got cleaned up for the SUPERBOWL :fingerscrossed: Just before today's BRONCOS game, I washed my MINI!!! GO BRONCOS!!!
Drove it home from the shop today where it spent the weekend while I was out of town. New brake pads installed. Plan for next steps in place.
Had a nice sunny drive up towards Masonville and Horsetooth today in the Countryman, lunch date with Pat (sweet wife), about a 4 hour run with the Countryman. We stopped at a favorite sandwich place in Longmont, we cannot seem to get enough of Schlotzky's original. Good to go now. Might have to go wash off some mud. Don
